Why Akshay Kumar backed out of the Adlabs deal?

Here is the real story..

Although Akshay Kumar is being acccused of backing out of the Adlab deal , the truth is quite different . For those who have forgotten , Akshay Kumar , Adlabs and filmmaker Vipul Shah were to enter into a tripartite deal under which the hero was to star in four films which would be produced by Vipul Shah and presented by Adlabs . One of the four films was to be directed by Vipul while the other three were to have been produced by by him . If the deal did not happen it had nothing to do with Akshay Kumar backing out at the last minute . It was also rumoured that Akshay Kumar was unhappy that Adlabs had paid Hrithik Roshan Rs. 30 crores for 3 films while was to get around 20 crores for 4 films .

It has now energed that the reasons for the deal going phut were completely different . It was actually Vipul Shah who backed out of the deal – and with a solid reason .

Under the contract , Vipul was to have produced the four films in one year , a task so daunting that he thought it better to not get into it .

Explained Vipul , ” When negotiations started , there were talks of proper systems being put in place but as we moved ahead , Manmohan -ji (Shetty) and I felt that the quality of work would suffer , if I had to deliver four films in a year , of which one was to be (necessarily) directed by me . I was also not sure whether I’d get four subjects for the films . After much deliberation , I decided that the contract would not be good for me .”

Even without the contract Adlabs will be presenting Vipul’s next too , after ‘Namastey London’ .

Once Vipul backed out , Akshay Kumar also decided to keep himself out of the proposed contract and the deal never fructified .
