Welcome Back has opened well at the box office on Friday. Inspite of the film not featuring a bankable male lead and the absence of a superstar like Akshay Kumar, the opening of Welcome Back is one among the Top 5 biggest openers of the year so far.
The tremendous recall value of the first ‘Welcome’ film has ensured a good initial at the box office. First day business is certain to cross the 12-13 crore mark, but if the evening / night shows grow, Welcome Back could touch or cross the 15 crore mark on Day 1.
The film has opened very well at single-screens, at multiplexes the start in the morning was slow, but business has picked up in the noon.

The credit goes to Nana-Anil-Paresh for the welcome franchise. They are the soul of this franchise. I dont care who playes damaad be it tushar kapoor or John or some other actor as far as these 3 actors remain in the franchise. I cant imagine welcome without Uday-Majnu and Dr.Ghunghroo. They are iconic charectrs of welcome franchise. Cant wait to watch this kickass entertainer this weekend.

Really pisses me off seeing Akshay Kumar haters commenting on almost every article spreading negativity towards him. I mean I respect each and every actor and their contribution, how about you guys do that too?! Many people wrote Akshay Kumar prior to 2012 as well and then he came with Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore! According to a Pinkvilla survey he’s the second most popular star in rural and mass centres after Salman Khan. He needs just one good movie to come back with a bang. Please give respect where it’s due.

Yeah I know about sequels very well bcos my biggest fan is part of all the sucessfull and one of d biggest sequels. But to be honest if Gangajal 2 hits the floor starring Priyanka after over a decade of the 1st instalment I would never say its because of Ajay Devgn. Or had ouatimd been successful I will credit Akshay not Ajay because come on these stars have different ways of expressing themselves so it’s not a must 2nd sequel depends on 1st? Lets be honest 6 months okay, 2 years gap ok 4years gap okay but anything 6years and above is quite a long time and actors movie verdicts ,their star power etc obviously changes in between these years.
finally based on your comments do you mean Dhoom 2 hritik was successful because of John’s star power or even without John in dhoom 2 it’s collection is because of him. Same u mean. Then despite absent of Hritik in dhoom 3 his star power was responsible for Aamirs dhoom 3 collections?

WB has open well than my expectation. Set for 2nd highest single day collection. I don’t know his producer invested 80-90cr for making welcome back without Akki, if akki in the movie the budget will be 100cr+ and opening will be more than 20cr+. WB team wasted 20cr more on the movie, it should not costed more than 60cr without Any big star in it. I hope WB become hit.
