Dhoom 3 vs Chennai Express: Box Office Comparison

Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 has smashed all records in its first week at the box office, but the film still has a fair distance to cover before it can go past the lifetime business of Shahrukh Khan’s biggest grosser Chennai Express.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, Dhoom 3 released on a non-holiday but benefitted from a holiday on its 6th day. On the other hand, Chennai Express released on a holiday and enjoyed a good run in the post-Eid period.

While CE had competition from big to medium budget films like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara (from Day 6), Madras Cafe (third week) and Satyagraha (4th week), Dhoom 3 has absolutely no competition from any major release in the next couple of weeks.
