Last Flop Of Bollywood Actors: February 2017

Consistency and frequency (of releases) is of utmost importance in the industry. Achieving those two things means an actor is able to release 1 – 2 or more films every year and yet bring audience to theatres. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are the top guys here, even though Salman is way ahead simply because we was able to get nearly 9 crore people to theatres during the 12-month period when ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – Sultan’ released in theatres and all films combined collected more than 800 crore at the domestic box office.

The dull period for the industry has begun. We do not have too many big films before the likes of ‘Baahubali 2’ which releases April-end. The major film in February is ‘Rangoon’, followed by ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ next month. 

Jolly LLB 2 shows excellent growth on 2nd Saturday and Sunday

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 has shown excellent growth in business on its 2nd Saturday at the box office. The collections are 2 times higher than all the new releases combined. The Friday to Saturday jump is also better than the best of the new releases this week ‘The Ghazi Attack’. The all-India growth in business is around the 53% mark on 2nd Saturday and sample figures from Sunday morning shows suggest, the film will put up big enough numbers to touch the 96 crore mark.

Imtiaz Ali shoots SRK-Anushka film at RK Studios in Mumbai

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has filmed portions of his upcoming movie ‘The Ring’ (working title) at the iconic R.K Studios in Mumbai. “Shooting in Raj Kapoor’s studio – a huge occasion in my life! we shot there for six days and I was constantly surrounded by the shadows of the great cinema that has been made here. Gratitude” Ali tweeted, saying the below picture on his official social media page.
