After the recent illness, Saif has finally decided to take care of his health. The first step towards it will be that he will quit smoking forever.
His recent illness has been a wake-up call for actor Saif Ali Khan , who has now vowed to quit smoking.
Just going a few months back, Saif had made a strict resolution on New Year?s Eve to quit smoking. Although he did cut down on the number of cigarettes he smoked per day, he could never quit the habit.
The wake-up call came last week when Saif was hospitalized with chest pain while rehearsing for an award show. The diagnosis reportedly revealed that there was a small blood clot in his heart, which doctors believe was brought about by regular smoking.
The good news is that the clot has been cured by medicines, but Saif, now discharged from the hospital, will have to rest a couple of days, if not weeks, in order to fully recuperate.
However, the time spent in the hospital has been quite a revelation for Saif.
?It’s been a time of revelation for me. Although I came out unscathed, this hospital experience was the much-needed warning for me,? Saif is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
Saif added that he has to change many things in his life, most importantly give up smoking forever.
He is also writing special ?thank you? notes to people who showed their concern during his illness.
