Has the GARAM MASALA combo — Akshay Kumar and John Abraham — signed their next film together? Reportedly, Kabir Khan, director of the critically acclaimed KABUL EXPRESS, has teamed the two hunks in his forthcoming film, which is expected to be a thriller.
?I?ve started developing a new idea. I started writing 10/15 days back. But the casting isn?t in place yet,? Kabir tells me, ?Yash Raj [the producers] doesn?t believe in signing stars till the scripted in locked. Once we?re okay with the script, the next step is to choose names that would fit into the film. Subsequently, the availability factor comes in; the actor ought to have the required dates for the project. We haven?t reached that stage yet, so casting Akshay and John is ruled out.?
But there?s no smoke without fire. ?I think people are confusing the casting of TASHAN with my film, since Akshay has been signed for it and my brother-in-law is directing the film. In fact, someone asked me a similar question the other day [whether Akshay was starring in the film]. Sure, my film will star sought-after names, but I have no clue who?d step in till I complete the script,? Kabir clarifies.
