Tamasha set to be Ranbir Kapoor’s 7th Highest Grosser

Tamasha is set to be the 7th highest grosser of Ranbir Kapoor’s career, as likely to collect a little more than 60 crore at the domestic box office. The collections will be poorer than ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani’ which is Ranbir’s 3rd most successful film after ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Barfi’.

The collections of Tamasha could eventually be exactly the same as the average collections of his career, which is Rs 63 crore per film.

Before Tamasha, his success ratio (verdict of Above Average or better) was 58% and his Hit-ratio was 41%. Post the failure of Tamasha, the success ratio has now dropped to 53% and hit-ratio is down to 38%.

Inspite of his recent failure, top directors in the industry continue to have tremendous belief in his potential. His comeback films will be with arguably two of the most popular directors in the country – Karan Johar (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) and Rajkumar Hirani (Sanjay Dutt biopic). Jagga Jasoos, though, will be his biggest worry. Not only does it feature Ranbir in the lead, but the film is co-produced by the actor himself.

  • All these upcoming films also are capable of being flop/Disaster. Yes directors are approaching him but now Tamasha also a flop the industry will start doubting on his star value. If you keep on giving flops, the industry may support but audience including your own fans don’t seem to take interest in your projects. They lose faith and only watch if the review are very very positive.

This downfall of him can be compared with that of Hrithik in 2001-02 year untill in 2003 Koi Mil gaya happened. But does he has the guts like Hrithik to make a strong comeback critically as well as commercially. Well don’t think so. Hrithik is very different. A hardworker combined with perfectionism.

He is now becoming very much like Rohit Sharma of Cricket team. All say he has talent but is not able to prove at ticket window. Rohit makes bad shot selection and he make wrong movie selection.

  • Also indicine you seem to be very fond of Run-Beer. You always try not to add Roy in his filmography.
But let me remind you- Roy was very much his film and he has given 4 back to back disasters/Flops- Besharam-Roy-BV-Tamasha. Kindly add it in the list and provide correct info.

  • Ranbir Kapoor going through bad phase of his career… It is comparable to Hrithik’s bad phase.. But he overcome and delivered the highest grosser of 2003…after that HR continues his successful journey…
So,Ranbir also need a powerful film like YJHD…But his most successful films comes with co-stars,big directors…He doesn’t give a successful film of his own like Salman,Hrithik…I don’t think JJ,ADHM will survive at box-office…Because ADHM gonna clash with a big film Shivaay(Ajay devgan most expensive movie)…Only Sanjay biopic going to be game-changer for Ranbir’s career…

  • tamasha is very unique movie. everyone should watch it i promise you won’t regret.
ranbir deserve an award for his performance.

    waiting for <3wale…

  • Back to Back 4 flops and talk about Akki Mega Star’s STARDOM. SHAME on Ranbir Kapoor fan. THUUUUUUU!!!!!

  • @indicine:
But PRDP bcm 7th highest grosser of Bollywood & 2nd highest grosser of the year and you have forgot to publish an article…. LOL.

  • where is Roy ? Roy is hidden in list ?

What is Extended special appearance ? ranbir kapoor was a part of movie in 3 lead cast before release of Roy everyone said Ranbir’s Roy what happen after the failure of Roy ?

Don’t try to hide ranbir’s roy failures by calling extended special appearance

Congrats Flopstar Ranbir’s fans for 4th back to back flop

  • Still some morons barking that ranbir is better than Superstars like Akshay Kumar Ajay Devgan and Hrithik Roshan hahahahahahaha

  • Aur patao and phirao Katrina ko. Salman se pangaa ya uske against koi bhi kuch bhi karley us ka burra time chalo !!!!!!!!!!! Examples : Vivek, Abhishek, SLB, SRK (struggling and crawling to give a HGOTY) and now Ranbir !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wat a career till besharam happened
11 releases 2 blockbusters 2 superhits 1 hit 1 semi hit success rate-55% biggest non festival hit ever yjhd-190cr 2 filmfare best actor awards. …!!!

This is just a poor phase of ranbir.
he will overcome it soon and enter a phase even better than pre-besharam phase

    Ranbir Rocks

  • I wonder why producers like Kjo and Sajid N are wasting their money on such movies. Develop new scripts with content even if you cast new comers it will be a profitable venture instead of losing your money on media created stars like Ranbir. Where are his fans now ??

  • Shah Rukh Khan has taken up far more challenging roles than Salman Khan in his early years alone. He has never shied away from stepping into different shoes and pulling them off with equal finesse. Salman Khan has come to a point where he just refuses to be sincere with his work. From ‘Wanted’ to ‘Dabangg’ to ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, no matter what the character demands, Salman would do ‘whatever he wants to’, for he knows the audiences will still pour in. He is done playing ‘characters’, all he does is appear on screen, mouth an iconic dialogue, do a funny dance, punch some goons, do the thing he has been doing for the last 7-8 years and become richer. He’s never the actor Salman Khan, always the star Salman Khan.
    copied..

  • Now we know the reason for the celebration or success party . It was his 7th Highest grosser. If he releases jagga jasoos then he will feature in an indicine article of lowest grossers of all time

  • He is any day much talented than akshay kunar. There is no comparison . If you just consider the recent releases, tell me what blockbuster Akshay gave recently?

It is like two fail kids comparing the marks of the current semester, one saying that he has just got 10 and the other saying though I’m failed, I got 30 i.e near to pass mark. lol

Considering the entire carrier graph, Ranbir is way ahead in terms of delivering good hit movies.

  • 65 cr Tamasha which released on 2100 screens is a flop, but 72 cr Singh is Bling which released on 3000+ screens and that too on a holiday is a semi hit? How come?

    • @Khan Kapoor, from when did screens decide verdicts of films? And what’s with everyones obsession with screen count? It means nothing. Singh Is Bling can be released in a village in Punjab and it’ll do well, Tamasha won’t even sell 5 tickets there, so why release it? Tanu Weds Manu Returns released on 2100 screens and did Rs 150 crore in India!

  • If Deepika and Imtiaz can’t save Ranbir then no one can.
ADHM and Jaaga Jasoos are sure shot flops i can bet on that

  • OMG…………feeling sad for Ranbir Kappor.
Tamasha is a good film but I can’t understand what is happening with its Box Office Collection.

  • Imtiaz ali + AR Rhman music+ red hot Depika= a big flop. This is the real power of actor who is here because of his dad or mom or family background.

  • @indicine, Well, then tell me why Sing is bling is a semi hit and Tamasha is a flop. both films are disappointments and did same amount of business. But why do you label one film a hit and other a flop?
