PK is going super strong at the box office today. The morning and noon shows, at most centres, had higher occupancy than both Friday and Saturday. The advance booking for the evening and night shows is excellent too.
Sunday collections could touch or even cross the 35 crore if the film manages to pick up at smaller centres. The highest collections for Sunday this year is Happy New Year (32.29 crore) and Kick (30.18 crore), PK should easily beat both films, which also means that the word-of-mouth for the film is by far the best for a big release this year.
Mass centres continue to be below expected levels, but multiplex business is more than making up for it.
4PM Update: PK is strong all over, especially in cities. Most shows in major cities are either sold out for the day or very few tickets are available. Tickets prices at most centres will remain the same for the weekdays too, exhibitors at smaller centres have reduced the price of tickets!

I think tomorow it will drop a lot.i.e on monday it will be around 18 crore and will drop around 1 crore daily in weekdays and will be 22crore on christmas..first week around 165cr
For all the people who are acusing the film on the similarities it has with omg. first of all only the genre is similar and saying pk is omg remake means all salman films are remake of each other because of action and all romantic films are copy of each other. I will rather watch and omg remake than all the craps we are subjected to see nowadays.
Just watched PK. It’s good or better from all 2014 movies but not extraordinary.
Performance wise Aamir and only Aamir and his powerful expression in all scene.

PK is what I call true success. Winning hearts with money! Yes, it has some similarities like OMG, but PK is just the 2nd religious satire bollywood has seen. Hope, both Umesh shukla and rajkumar hirani continue to win hearts! Keep going!
I’d like to see a sequel of PK because this quirky character deserves so much better! As a character, it is as strong as Munna Bhai, but the makers weren’t able to pull it through that successfully!

But if we remove previews also..day one is more than PK…Dhoom brand se koi bhi sher banta hai….PK is more overseas friendly than CE, HNY still SRK name is enough unlike Aamir !!!

Hi indicine I have seen other reports saying that it is underperforming in mass areas. Can you guys clarify if it is only doing in big cities and what about smaller centers. Any chance of it crossing 300cr or 250 cr.

If pk was directed by sajid khan,prabhu dheva or joker kunder everyone whould praise the movie,because expectations would be low. But its raju hirani film and all expected too much from him.Everyone expected better movie than his previous masterpieces like munna series and 3 idiots. it failed to meet these expectations. This is the ony factor that is affecting collections. But if you watch it without comparing to munna series and 3 idiots you will find it outstanding movie.
I am a very big fan of SRK but I liked this movie very much being a Muslim. This movie is just preaching Islam. We should worship the God who created us and not whom we create with our own hands. Amazing movie.
