Chennai Express TRP: Best for 2013, 3rd highest ever

Chennai ExpressThere are reports that 2013’s biggest blockbuster Chennai Express has also fetched the highest TRP’s for a feature film this year. The Shahrukh Khan – Deepika Padukone starrer stands at No 3 in the list of films that released in the last 5 years.

TRP of 9.5 is also the highest for a Shahrukh starrer, way ahead of his last few releases releases like Ra One and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Earlier today, SRK tweeted “Heard Chennai Express was hugely watched on Zee TV. Another feather in Rohit Shetty & teams’ cap. “Don’t u EVER under estimate etc etc…””

  • Lol JTHJ TRP is 2.4. So stop assuming things it is not srk power or stardom but the content or entertainment movie provides to the audiences. I believe 2.4 TRP is worst for any Yash Raj movie even Band Baaja Baaat did better than JTHJ.

    After breaking box office records, Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Chennai Express’ has now smashed all records on the small screen in Week 43 of TAM. The world television premiere of the film on Zee TV fetched 19,541 TVT which largely contributed to the channel’s growth by about 100 million TVT.
    Zee TV’s dance reality show Dance India Dance Season 4 also contributed to its growth. DID 4 opened at 6,075 TVT to become the most watched show in the weekend. Riding on Chennai Express and DID 4, Zee TV has hit the top spot among Hindi GECs, pushing Star Plus at No. 2.
    According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 43 (October 20 – October 26) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Colors was at No. 3. Life OK made a comeback to No. 4 followed by SAB TV at No. 5. Sony remained at No. 6.
    Zee TV topped the Hindi general entertainment channels riding on the television premiere of Chennai Express. Its viewership grew by about 100 million and its gross TVT reached 505 million. Its relative share rose to 21.33% against last week’s 18.28%.
    Star Plus lost 24 million in its Gross TVT and slipped to No. 2 in Week 43. The channel recorded 493 million TVT with a relative share of 20.80% (last week 517 million TVT with 23.09% relative share).
