Anil Kapoor replaces Govinda in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos

Actor Govinda, who was supposed to make a special appearance as Ranbir Kapoor’s father in Anurag Basu’s much-delayed Jagga Jasoos, won’t be a part of the film.

There were reports that the makers weren’t happy with the way Jagga Jasoos had shaped up and several scenes were being reshot.

Govinda had already shot his scenes, but the makers wanted fresh dates. When the actor couldn’t give them those dates, they decided to replace him with Anil Kapoor.

A source close to the film tells DNA “Govinda had finished shooting but the makers wanted fresh dates from him. Also they were not too happy his errant ways so they decided to replace him. They have almost finalised on Anil to play Ranbir’s father”

Govinda says “I did my guest role for the film. Whether they retain it or not, you will have to check with them.”

  • Very sad. This film is looking just like Bombay Velvet. Even that film was delayed to reshoot scenes, when makers were not happy with the film.

Tamasha is Ranbir’s only hope.. if that fails, he will be in big trouble as Jagga Jasoos looks like a sure shot disaster in the making.

  • Jagga Jasoos will be flop…Because of Ranbir and his gf…I said earlier that cute boys only does romantic movies…They can’t do high-octane action adventure movie…Also ranbir’s gf does’nt know acting…
Only the saving grace is Anil Kapoor/Govinda…Govinda and anil are legends..Govinda opted out from this movie..Because he knew that it would be a Flop…So,Anil Kapoor is only the saving grace of Jagga Jasoos…
Anil showed his class on hollywood and Bollywood..And more recent Dil Dhadakne Do…

  • whatever u bring Anil or Govinda, peoples knows it will be another All time Disaster for Ranbir Fake Superstar.

  • Ranbir movies….prediction…

    Tamasha FLOP .. —-
due to legend salman’s Prdp ,, small time Deepika actor Ranvver singh’s bajirao mastani…. And Legend srk ‘s dilwale…..and bad content…..

Jagga Jasoos – All Time Disaster..—-
becoz of Bad content…. And same cheap media dramebaazi of Paid Hype Affair rumour of Kat-Rk……!

    Ae dil h mushkil. — FLOP…

What to xpect when Kjo is directing???….. Just cheap low content drama…. And just nautanki promotion extravaganza…. POOR. !!!

  • Sureshot DISASTER.. Bombay velvet sequel in making..

Ranbir is media created overrated overhyped.. Cheap affair rumours .. Fake actor…

A bygoner wasted spoon-fed kapoor kid

  • Not interested in media created overhype fake link-up rumour actor… Jagga jasoos is all time Flop.. Tamasha will also be flop.. If it becums hit. It is due to deepika.. Not media created link-up actor ranbir..

  • Ranbir kapoor and emraan hashmi are travelling in the same boat. There mr x , bombay velvet flopped at bo.Bombay velvet did a little less business than mr x inspite of being 10 times bigger film… This happens..

But ranbir kapoor is very fortunate to have support from industry,, KJo, big banners,, deepika,Kat , media backing and Kapoor kid tag… He can do whatever he wants as being a son of Rishi kapoor n royale kapoor family helps… Which emran does not have..

Hamari adhuri kahani Azhar for emraan and ranbir is for tamasha Jagga jasoos..
I have doubts over jagga jasoos as it can be a disaster becoz of high budget..

Tamasha will not help Ranbir much as it is going to collect less and Deepika will walk away with accollades and credits.

  • Jagga Jasoos is a very important movie for Ranbir because he is the producer of the movie . Anurag has given good movies such as Murder, Life in a Metro and Barfi !
Because of the failure of BV Ranbir and Anurag have decided to reshoot most of the scenes because Ranbir does not want to take a chance . They are now trying to make this movie more commercial so that it makes money . I have heard reports that Anurag was unhappy with the behaviour of Govinda on the sets as he used to come late . Let us see how will Anil portray the role of Ranbir’s Father . One more similar news of replacement is that Tabu has replaced Rekha in Fitoor . The reason is the creative differences between Abhishek Kapoor and Rekha .

  • Ranbir-Basu after Barfi, will again recreate magic on the silver screen.
Anil-Ranbir as father-son is one great piece of casting.

  • Watched TWMR.

Predictable, not entirely convincing, yet consistantly engaging and offers big entertainment. Cinematography is perfect and Production design is realistic. The last part is too good.
Kangana is brilliant as Kusum. I rooted for both of her characters. All the actors have acted very well.
    Rating: 3.5/5

  • @Nipun… good short review.. but I expect more from a professional reviewer like you. You can’t make mistakes like getting the spelling of ‘consistently’ wrong.

    P.S. Just kidding :)

  • @3:19pm

Dont think you got a future in the media coz being one week late with the Breaking News / Review isnt exactly what the public want you idiot….

  • @3:19pm
