O Ri Chiraiya lyrics from Satyameva Jayate, a chat show hosted by Aamir Khan. The first episode dealt with the sensitive issue of Female Foeticide (aborting / killing unborn female child).
The O Ri Chiraiya song, composed by Ram Sampath, was played at the very end of the episode with the audience in tears. A beautiful song that reminds you of the ‘Taare Zameen Par’ title track.

I always had great respect for Aamir Khan’s work which has increased after watching Satyamev Jayate today morning.
As the saying goes ‘with great power comes great responsibility’. And Aamir has done just that, as a responsible citizen of India, he had the power to take up a social cause and take it to the masses.
My respect for you has increased today Aamir. Keep up the fabulous work that your doing.
As for this song Ori Chiraiya.. it’s so heart touching. Beautifully composed and sung. Great lyrics. Yes, I had tears in my eyes watching those small girls. How can anyone even think of killing them? And Aamir calling those girls was a nice personal touch.
Beautiful show. Hope it does change India for the better.
