Hrithik Roshan has quite easily won the media created box office battle between him and Harry Potter. According to early estimates on Box Office India, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara riding almost entirely on the star power of its lead star has collected more than Rs 7.5 crores in India on Day 1.
Harry Potter on the other hand released in both English and Hindi-dubbed versions has collected around Rs 4.5 crores, which is pretty good for a Hollywood release.
Clearly, ZNMD is way ahead of the competition and is likely to end its Friday as the second biggest Day 1 grosser of the year. Behind Ready, which not only had a open week but also carried tremendous mass appeal.
The trade had predicted doom for ZNMD even before its release, as it didn’t exactly have the hype nor the buzz that usually surrounds big star releases. The box office opening of the film reaffirms the fact that Hrithik is still one of the very few bankable stars in the industry.
We expect the opening to be more than 7.5 crores.. Between 8 – 8.5 crores.. Would have easily been 10 crores without Harry Potter’s last outing..

It is not only because of Hrithik Roshan that ZNMD is going to be a hit . Hrithik Roshan is only a part of the whole canvas. Katrina possibly contributes a lot more towards making the film a HIT. She is more in demand than the ‘Kite flop’, ‘Guzaarish flop’ hero Hrithik. In fact, ZNMD is Hrithik’s lucky movie. The tall ‘camel’ hero is super lucky to be acting in ZNMD. Farhan is ten times better actor than Hrithik. I think it not at all justified to give all the credit to Hrithik since he alone CAN NEVER give a hit like Salman or Amir or Shah rukh. @ I guess the movie did very well to collect 7.5cr in day one & also i am expecting looking at the occupaanc level of the morning shows.
why i said good nos because the movie only release on 900 print which completely surprise me, i was guessing it would be around 1100 print release atleast. but due to HP 2 it got less screen space in the multiplexes and the business is divided in multiplexes, which is the main income source of ZMND.
so with 900 prints 7.5 cr nett is a very good nos.
i dont thing ZMND do good in box office,its not a full entertainment movie. more young guns want watch first HARRY POTTER only.

3 idiots, DCH, RDB and Delhi Belly were definetly the best youth films of this decade. But also ZNMD was a good film worth watching for the exellent direction of Zoya Akhtar, the sexy Katrina, and the brilliant acting of the talented Farhan Akhtar. But certainly not for that irritating fake overactor HR.
First DCH was the film which redifined youth movies and all filmmakers got inspired from it, RDB had a great effect on youth like no other film and was liked by everyone. Then 3 Idiots which made people cry, laugh and think at the same time, and is the most loved film of the decade. Again Delhi Belly which is the best film of this year so far, a totally path breaking movie which took Bollywood to a new level.
ZNMD will be rememered for a few years as an awesome well-movie but certainly NOT as a great or cult film.
But go and watch it, worth spending money.

As for Hrithik, he is considered one of the biggest talent Bollywood has ever seen, did you check out Zodha Akbar and then his performance? How about Lakshya; movie did not do well commercially but his performance was lauded everywhere. Hrithik was horrible in KMG and I found the movie silly and horrible too. He was acting like that in MPKDH and in some scenes of Guzaarish too, may be the reason is as a kid i loved ET so much, KMG made an absolute mockery of it and i find HR very irritating in it. Before someone jumps on me saying I am a Hrithik hater, I liked Hrithik in KNPH. I liked his performances in Fiza & Mission Kashmir. I did not like him in Guzaarish either. I think he is a decent actor with some limitations..I cant imagine hrithik in a full fledged comedy role…

I think Hrithik is not doing justice to his talent, he gave some decent performances in the past and i loved some of them like Fiza, Lakshya, JA…but he can easlity overact, like in Guzaarish the film was a torture for me, Hrithik in fact was the only saving grace in it, but still he couldn't resist himself from going over the top in many scenes but i don't blame him here it's that how actors usually perform in SLB films.
But i can say that people overrated his performance calling it great/out of the world. I found SRK in MNIK better that year(though i don't like him that much), but he was fantastic in his role.
Hrithik's problem is that when he act in a role that deos not suit his brand(method) of acting, he overacts and does not look convincing at all.
So Hrithik fans just because Sawssen, Syed, Me don't find Hrithik a great or the best actor does not mean that he is bad or that we hate him. Everyone has the right to express his opinion as he is not bashing anyone.
