January 2012 is building up to be a huge month for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. With Agneepath, one of the biggest films of next year, scheduled to hit screens in January, Karan has just announced another film which will go on floors in the same month – Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
The USP of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is the pairing of ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Once upon a time in Mumbai (yes, they fell in love in Mumbai), the two actors were madly in love with each other. Deepika even tattooed Ranbir’s initials ‘RK’ on her neck.
A year later, they broke up and the Koffee With Karan show featuring Deepika and Sonam Kapoor created many controversies. Things seem to be better now, as the two good-looking actors are all set to share screen space once again in Wake Up Sid director Ayan Mukherji’s next.
The last time Ranbir and Deepika appeared in a movie (Bachna Ae Haseeno), they proved to be an excellent onscreen couple. Can they repeat the magic post-breakup?
Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani will go on floors in January 2012 and the romantic comedy is expected to release late next year. It was Karan Johar who announced the film on twitter, he tweeted saying “So hey… Ranbir and Deepika will be in Ayan Mukerji’s next titled… YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI!!! The wake up sid boys on the floors from Jan!!”
