During his ‘blockbuster’ run that started with Dabangg, Jai Ho will be the second Salman Khan film after Ready that will fall short of the 200 crore mark worldwide.
While the investors of 2011’s ‘Ready’ doubled / tripled their investment, Jai Ho would have had to collect around Rs 230-240 crore worldwide for Eros to break-even.
What that effectively means is, the worldwide gross of Jai Ho is about 35% of Dhoom 3, less than half of Chennai Express and about 50% of Krrish 3. All these films were holiday releases. Compared to non-holiday releases, Jai Ho is around the same level as Barfi and Talaash, but about 10% lower than Ram Leela.

@Indicine, Why is the Break-Even Point for Jai Ho is 230 Crores? How much have Eros invested in total? What will be the verdict if it grossed 185 Crores – 190 Crores. Just curious! So, will it become Salman Khan’s own (non-holiday) Ra.One?

Salman Khan starrer ‘Jai Ho’ box office collections make it first film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in calendar year 2014.
‘Jai Ho’ box office collections have gone up to Rs 166.33 crore (gross) in its second weekend worldwide, according to Eros International Media Limited.
Released across 5,000 plus screens worldwide, the film grossed Rs 133.33 crore (nett Rs 102.58 crore) at the domestic box office and Rs 33 crore (US$ 5.4 mn) overseas, up to the second weekend.
Speaking on the film’s performance, Nandu Ahuja, Sr VP, India Theatrical, Eros International, said, “We are encouraged by the film’s run into its second week. With Uttar Pradesh going tax free, which will give a boost to the collections, we are hoping more states will follow”.
Kamal Jain, Group CFO, Eros International Media Ltd, added, “Jai Ho is an action drama with a social message and slightly different from the usual Salman Khan fare, so the film was sensibly priced keeping this in mind. We are pleased to say that while the film may not have smashed box office records as is the recent trend, it is a profitable venture for us and we are proud to be associated with the film. It is definitely a key film in our portfolio that we will continue to exploit for the next 60 years”.
Still jai ho world wide gross is bigger then akshay kumar 3 films Indian net collection so even salman flops collect more then other many superstars hit that is called real stardom
He still has to achieve 350cr mark. Forget 400cr or 500cr..

@Indicine team. Even Ready made loss for few distributors ( u can check) but overall it’s a profit making film. Eros has sold Jai Ho to few individual distributors they are in huge loss.
