Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who will be seen in this week’s release ‘Noor’, has said women deserve to be paid the same amount of money as men – because they put in the same amount of effort.
“There should be equality in everything. Women are paid way lesser than men for doing the same work and putting in the same effort, if not more, which is unfair. That should be equalized not only in my profession but in other professions too” Sonakshi said.
Denying the fact that her solo film ‘Akira’ failed at the box office, Sonakshi said it’s unfair to compare a film like ‘Akira’ to some of her other films.
“The film (Akira) did a business of Rs 32-33 crore, which is amazing. The only reason you say it didn’t do well is because you are comparing it to my other films, which is unfair”
“I got to work with an amazing director, play a fantastic role, got to learn mixed martial arts. With the kind of business it did, the producers got the idea that this girl can carry a film on her shoulders and promote it all by herself” Sonakshi added.
Directed by Sunhil Sippy, ‘Noor’ releases in theatres on 21 April.
It sucks,they think that they should be paid like salman amir srk,it can’t happen in this world,offcrs they will be paid if they have ability to give hits like these superstar!
Its not about ‘hard work’ in bollywood or in business generally speaking but its about performance which in this case is the boxoffice performance.
Working hard unfortunately doesnt mean you get top dollar… a cleaner in the same bank as a banker in everyones eyes works 100 times harder than the banker who many perceive as being lazy waiting by his phone all day twiddling his thumb but that same bank deems it necessary to pay the banker 100 times more than what they pay the cleaner bcoz of the bankers performance ie the wealth he generates them.
Thats life n bollywood is no different… spot boys imo work harder than fatty Sonakshi so will she advocate for them to be paid the same as her..? Hell no…

This is not based ön female actors or male actors, payment based on how the lead actor pulls audience initially, for instance,nawaz will never be paid as khans in spite of his terrific acting abilities, but due to star power. Stop talking nonsence aunty sonu

Another dumb comment from this dumb lady…… What she fails to understand is Remuneration is ‘not based on how much works a man or a woman puts in but on the Returns on the Hard Works one brings or the level of profits on the investment one earns, a male or a female..’ In this case, BO earnings!!!

Sonakshi, serious advice. Go and talk this to your employer. Please him or her in your own way. Then you can get better payments.. No point of moaning it on the media
