Do charity and do it directly, suggests actor Salman Khan, who contributes to various social activities through his charitable organisation Being Human.
Salman, 47, was present Wednesday at the launch of new campaign The Little Hearts, which aims at curing 500 children suffering from heart ailments. Being Human has joined hands with the Fortis Foundation for the initiative.
“Everybody does charity, but not everybody likes to talk about it. Some may do it for personal benefits, to stay in the limelight or others might do it genuinely. According to me, you may do charity for any reason, but do it anyways. No matter what the intention is,” Salman told reporters here.
Under the programme, 42 children have already been treated and eight are currently hospitalised in Fortis.
When it comes to donation, the “Dabangg” star feels it’s even better to do it first hand.
“Rather than going and giving money to a place where you don’t know how it will be utilised, it is better to make direct charity like funding a child’s education. At least you can see the results yourself,” he said.
The actor also launched a Being Human store in the hospital, which has clothing line for men and children.
Great person great work great human being. I believe in charity just keep doing it simple, it is message to all human beings.

A person doing a charity. Now people will have different opinions, some people will think its showoff, others will think he is doing genuinely and considered him a great human and few others will have their own version. Why here people are judging a person ?. Why cant we thing he is doing good thing instead of going for his intention. No body can find out the persons intention behind charity. Most people will believe him genuinely, this give a chance for a person to manipulate common man and take advantage of us. There are few fake saints who attained demi-god status by doing few good things and people judge him as a god. Well, i think it only happens in india. There are propably lots of rich ppls out there, who do lots of charity and inside secretly doing worst possible thing but what he gets is “wow what a great guy”, ” he has golden heart” such type of response. why ppls judge a person by his KARMA ? .if a person do charity then we should appreciate his karma not him as a person and if the same person do bad thing then again we should blame is karma not him.

I like Salman, and not because of his huge box-office successes. Salman is someone I look up to in terms of what he has done in bollywood, he is a success story you can learn from.

@mental dabangg. U know those victims who were crushed by salman’s car few years ago is still sleeping in the same pavement in bandra. One of them died and other person have to place metal piece inside his knees. First ask salman to help those victim who were still struggling just coz of him , then he can take credit of helping his brother or helping needful.

By his above statements salman is indirectly saying that he does charity for a reason, i.e. publicity(though he dint say tat he meant it cause he said he was doing it for a reason. What other reason could salman have!!). So, Salman is so insecure of his bullshit career which stands high because of south remakes and more and more south remakes, that hes even using charity as a cover-up to gain publicity. I pity him!! As i said earlier, Victims who got crushed by ur beloved Salman khan car is still suffering. They dont have place to sleep, still they are sleeping in the same pavement where they got crushed. Salman khan, a golden hearted chairty person are not aware of it ?.
I am not making any negative comment against salman khan or dont want to hurt salman fans feeling. But want to know why are they being ignored. Salman who is getting richer by each day can’t afford to help victims or Salman dont want to help those who got suffered by his carelessness. I totally agree with what salman has said in the above aticle, charity counts intention doesnt matter. It depends on an individual’s personality.
There is no rule that charity should only be done in secret.
The meaning of charity doesn’t mean secret help. Does it?
Some like to be in public, talk in public, and hence they are comfortable doing charity in public. This is their nature. They don’t want to have any secrets. Hence, it does not mean they have any bad intention etc.,
People should stop poking finger at every action of others.
Many people who are giving gyaan over here on how charity works, never give a single paise in charity, but are very good at pointing fingers who are doing it.
Salman is right, whatever your intention or way, just do it, because there are many needy children out there, and instead of criticising others, if you just extend your help it would do a world of good for these children.
Better to look at the larger picture of a needy child getting help than discussing and criticising in ways how people donate.
@soroop : plz provide the sources of this. Salman compensated the family though i believe there is no compensate for human life. If they want to continue living on footpaths despite getting compensation then Salman cant do anything. Creating fake news is very easy but proving it is difficult. Prove it !!

Maybe you would like to demand more protection for them from the police or more social housing for them from the Authorities.
Please let us know what response you get from the powes that be and I hope the Police do not thrash you so hard when you go there demanding they do their job properly when it comes to protecting all Indians- rich or poor, fully clother or half clothed, fed or starving, home owners or homeless etc etc.

how many youngsters were doing charity before Being Human existence? I personally know a friend who earns 15, 000 per month n he denotes 3, 000 every month all thanks to Salman n BH. Let whatever reason he runs BH but Atleast salman is inspiring thousands of people towards charity. Is srk inspire same thing except running behind success n earning moolah or doing senseless romantic acts? One of the maha purush AK had said, dont run behind success but excellence or humanity. I applaud Salman Khan for the charity and good work his Being Human does all around the year! Everyone should learn from him including his own friend Aamir Khan who does only seasonal activism on TV in years and then disappears! At least Being Human functions all over India and in many countries abroad all year round! That is true social concern!
@Hrithik. Nobody can inspire anyone as charity is concerned. A person should have a good heart to spend something on it. Thousands of people are spending 200 or 300 rupees on watching a salman movie, if half of that money is spent on charity then its not a small thing, isn’t it ?. Salman is getting crores on films and ad, if 2% is spent on charity then he doesn’t need any being human. Shouting on the rooftop about charity won’t necessarily inspire anyone.
