‘Wazir’ to release on January 8, trailer attached to ‘Spectre’

Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming drama film “Wazir”, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles will release on January 8 next year.

The trailer of the film will be out on Wednesday and will be attached with the twenty fourth James Bond film, “Spectre”, which hits screens in India on November 20.

This will be the first time that Amitabh and Farhan would be seen sharing screen space together.

  • First proven guilty, sentenced for 5 years.

then overshadowed by harshali in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

then big boss got just 1 TRP rating, become disaster

now prdp failed to beat hny.

is salman old bad time started once again?

  • Critics saying that PRDP isn’t a classic like HAHK, MPK or HSSH. Strongly disagree. I don’t think HAHK, MPK or HSSH were classics either.

  • HUM AAPKE HAI KAUN touted to be biggest hit of BOLLYWOOD, the combo comes after 20 years failed to beat SRK-Farah opening day. STARDOM

  • So finally , I managed to watch PRDP on the name of “Team outing”. I was not very much interested to catch it in theatre nor I had pre-planned it. But few of my colleagues had planned an outing and they dragged me forcibly . Now I tell you , this is where “Holiday release” plays a major role. We searched a lot for other options (as we were already aware about the reviews of PRDP), but couldn’t get a single movie to catch up. Few of my colleagues , who are a die-hard fan of Salman khan, too, played a vital role to gather all of us for PRDP. Next, this is how , clash affects the collection of a movie. Had we given another option today, we would have preferred that option over PRDP for sure. Anyway, will continue to my experience of PRDP.

As expected, our Audi was packed and not a single seat was empty. Also, one thing I noticed (which I don’t remember when I saw last time), around 20-30% audiences were 60+ in age. So those who are telling that “despite of being a family drama” it collected so much. Come on, this family genre and Sooraj factor is working in its favour and not against it.

Coming to the movie, its something which makes you yawn at times. And this was not the case with me, but with most of the audiences . After a certain time, they were freely roaming outside the Audi and were coming back after 5-10 minutes. Means no body was really bothered what is happening inside. What I felt is, they have dragged it too much. There was no need of such a lengthy screenplay when the same could have conveyed within 2.5 hrs.
Few unnecessary and really boring sequences :

    1. Halo Re song : This song was total misfit. There was no need of adding it there. It just broke the whole sequence of the movie and audiences lost their grip from there on.
    2. Football match sequence : Again that could have been cut a lot short. They simply kept on dragging that sequence I don’t know for what reasons.
    3. Salman and Sonam’s emotional conversation at pool side : Again that was a boring and unnecessary sequence which may give a yawn even to a person who just finished his cup of coffee.
    4. Flashback , where all kids were shown singing and playing Piyano : Dude, its 2015, not 99/00, where you will put a song like “Ye to sach hai k bhagwan hai” and “A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I” and it will connect the audiences right away. This sequence was looking so artificial and people were laughing instead of getting emotional.
There are many other sequences , which didn’t do anything except boring the audiences.

Coming to the performance , Salman Khan looked decent when he performed “Vijay Singh” , but again he crossed all the limits of “non-acting”, when he portrayed “Prem Dilwala”.
Anupam and Swara were good. I didn’t have much hopes from Sonam and thus no comments on her. Arman Kohli created new records of overacting.

One thing which could be admired about PRDP and which will make those torturous three hours a worth is the cinematography . Full credits to Sooraj for that. Each and every scene looks perfect. The set they have chosen, the palace they have shown, The Sheeshmahal, everything is damn good. Once you are getting bored with the slow pace of the movie, just keep looking at the background and locations and it will cure you till an extent.

Coming to the story , was there any ? I wish , Sooraj would have invested at least 10% of wisdom on story, what he invested on cinematography and choosing the locations. First of all, Vijay Singh’s accident, then his treatment and Vijay’s minions finding “Prem Dilwala”, all these sequences seem to be inspired from “Don”. The only difference is, Don meets an accident with his lavish car whereas Vijay sing was going in his old fashioned chariot. Also, not sure what made them to do this but they seems to be using “Dilwale” name multiple times. I don’t know if this was the strategy to attract SRK fans or they are kind enough to promote “Dilwale”, but there are instances, when no body calls Prem as “Prem” and they call him “Dilwale”.
Finally, If they would have cut short this movie to 2 hrs 20 mins or so, result would not have been this much worse. But what they have shown now is complete misfit and nowhere relates to the current era.

Positives : Not much, except the brilliant cinematography and locations. Also, few emotinal scenes, specially the one where Salman hugs Niel post the fight (in Sheeshmahal), were good. But movie fails to create any impact on audience.

Conclusion : PRDP is meant for Salman fans. If you are his fan, you should go and watch it and show your support towards him. For neutral movie buffs, I would request , if you want a nice sleep then go and pay 300/400, else don’t even bother to watch it as it will bore you till an extent that you will lose your temper.
Also, if you are going to watch it keeping HAHK and MPK in mind then I am sorry, you will be disappointed like anything. Leave those movies, its not even closer to Salman’s Ready (Which itself was a crap), when it comes to entertainment.

Rating : Already , we have various ratings ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 , so I don’t want to rate it as one can get the idea from my review. But @indicine , you rated it 4.0. I mean really ?
I read somewhere that you rated 4.0 to HNY as well (though I was not active during HNY release). Being an SRK fan, I can say that HNY didn’t deserve 4.0. And same is the case with PRDP. I don’t know what made you to rate it this much. But one request, please raise the bar. Don’t rate a movie just to please certain readers. Many people have faith in your reviews and they decide to watch a movie based on your review. You are playing with that belief.

  • Spectre will release next week and it is expected to take a huge opening as myself with my friends will watch on first day. Infact, pre booking has already opened.
    James Bond is huge!
It will surely effect PRDP in the 2nd week!
But, since WOM of PRDP is already negative, it is not expected to sustain next week.
Waiting for Spectre and Wazir both!

  • Wazir is expected to be a classic due to superb writing goodwill of Abhijaat, VVC and impeccable record of VVC and RKH as producers.

  • i want to know from indicine that how could they publish comment of prdp in wazir article? You should never allow user to comment other movie comment in this article, only if it is to compare with it than you can publish it. I am looking forward to this movie bcas there is big b and a telented actor farhan actor. If i have said anything wrong then i am sorry.

  • Watched prdp Friday 7pm show and here is my review(I M ONLY A STUDENT)
    REVIEW-
I entered the theatre with my family members and relatives expecting a entertaining family film which will teach values and touch my heart.
But I was disappointed as the whole casting was bad.Sonam was a miscast but managed to look good.Neil nitin mukesh wasn’t used.Armaan kohli deserved ghanta awards.anupam kher was good. Now come to salman who was average as king but won my heart as prem Dilwale.
Sooraj barjatya has to learn that this is not 90’s and the film had too many(too many songs)and only 2 were good(prem leela and title song).
Only good things-prem Dilwala(Loved it),prem leela and title song, few scenes in 1st half were good and the GRAND SETS.
    Rest I didn’t like.
    Rating-1.5* + 1* For Prem Dilwala.
    Final rating-2.5*

  • @indicine ur the worst critic ever reason…….HNY-4, BB–4 and PRDP—4

so u mean BB and HNY are same. Iam SRK fan and truly believe HNY is the worst movie of his career and BB is the best movie of salaman career and u rated both equally kuch tho…??

ur trying to please certain readers…..i got it…..PRDP is even worst than HNY…disaster of the century…the only thing suraj did correct is casting Salman otherwise it will end its business eneded first day itself.

  • @XVIDEOZONE but PRDP is much better than last year’s CNY and This year’s Dilwale will be same as CNY.

  • Wazir is looking interesting & releasing 3 weeks after BM & DILWALE Release.
So…………film can get a good opening at plexes.
SPECTRE can dent big on the Business of PRDP in cities & plexes & it will get & big release as Skyfall was super hit in 2013.
    Film can open big.

  • @movie lover 9:11 pm/Swanand 10:32 pm : Apologies for the off-topic comment. I wanted to post my review on 3 consecutive articles of indicine and thus I included “Wazir” article among those 3.
Though I had another option “Bollywood condemns Paris 13/11 Attacks” , but that was altogether different page and talking about any movie or its +/- on that page would not have been good on my part. So I simply skipped that.

@The Breast “Killed” by The Phenom 09:41 pm : Why are you worried about Dilwale ? Better worry about that crap which is being shown in the theatres right now. :P

@” HUM ” REMAKEWALE 09:54 pm : Again you are going to troll yourself with bogus claims. Be aware !!!

    @Parinde muskan 10:01 pm : Thank you !!!

    @Bakwas fan 10:55 pm : What about PRDP’s manipulation ?

  • Those keen on watching Spectre, Have already watched this movie here in a theater at LA. It’s easily a yawn inducing and the worst among 007 movies!!! It goes downhill after a spectacular opening sequence. Skyfall was way better than this.

Positives: Daniel Craig, kissing scenes, opening action scene in Mexico city.
Negatives: Mishandling of storyline, sluggish screenplay, overdrawn climax.

Me and my other friends(Indian and American) had a nice sleep in between.

My review 1.5/5. Avoid at all costs.

  • Also forgot to add another point. Christoph Waltz, who played the villain had a weak characterization and was less menacing than the other Bond villains.
