Vote: Bollywood Best Actor 2009
With the main contenders for most Best Actor awards every year (read Shahrukh, Aamir and Hrithik) having no releases so far this year, the main contenders are Shahid Kapoor for Kaminey, Salman Khan for Wanted, Saif Ali Khan for Love Aaj Kal and Akshay Kumar for Kambakht Ishq – all of whom, quite ironically, have never won the Best Actor award.
Critically, Shahid Kapoor’s performance received immense appreciation, but the movie hasn’t fared as well as it was expected to commercially, which probably could be the only reason Shahid “may not” win the award this year. Since its the ‘popular’ awards we are talking about, performances in movies that don’t fare well commercially are usually ignored (not the case always though, Shahrukh Khan won the Filmfare Best Actor award for his character of Mohan Bhargav in the box disaster Swades)
Salman Khan’s performance in Wanted too has been well-praised, both by critics and audiences. The other two lesser contenders are Akshay and Saif.
The last 3 months of the year though, have some great movies lined up for release starring actors who could challenge Shahid’s performance this year. Here are some of the performances to look forward to
- Ranbir Kapoor in Wake up Sid (releases October 2nd 2009)
- Amitabh Bachchan in Aladin (releases October 30th 2009)
- Ranbir Kapoor in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (releases November 6th 2009)
- Neil Nitin Mukesh in Jail (releases November 6th 2009)
- Salman Khan in London Dreams (releases October 30th 2009)
- Saif Ali Khan in Kurbaan (releases November 27th 2009)
- Amitabh Bachchan in Paa (releases December 4th 2009)
- Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh (releases December 11th 2009)
- Akshay Kumar in Blue (releases October 16th 2009)
- Salman Khan in Main Aur Mrs Khanna (releases October 16th 2009)
- Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots (Christmas 2009)
- Hrithik Roshan in Kites (release date not confirmed)
On a lighter note, Himesh Reshammiya for Radio..?!!

I want to soo Hrithik’s Kites very badly. I alos want to see Aamir’s 3 Idiots. Those are the only 2 movies I am looking forward to this year. For next year I really want to see Shahrukh’s My Name Is khan.

if there is any other movie to be released but best actor will be SALMAN the great

i am not happy with ideas since you have not concider abhay deol for dev d. you know he perform very well. even in venice film festival he was award with 10 minutes stand-clap for dev d.

You treat the “actors” “roasters in a gambling game ” the best roaster who collects more money to his owner. No the best actor is another story ,it depends on the goodness of the performance & the creative skills of the actor in a particular role…in the light of that I guess the competition ‘ll be between
Salaman khan “wanted”, Aamir khan ” 3 idiots”, Neil Mukesh “jail”, Akki ” blue” & Saif ali khan “kurbaan”
No my dudes, Wanted is interestingly an entertaining movie. But it does not mean it deserves award for Salman, coz for those which gets name in awards they are something meaningful, but Wanted is just an entertainer,..nothing more. Even I liked Wanted for heart-beating thrilling story.
I hope still yet to come some best movies in this year…and patiently plz wait for those to judge the final winner.
