When ‘Tubelight’ released in theatres during the Eid weekend, the absolute least that the trade expected out of the film was a 200-225 crore grosser. But with the film completing its 10-day run at the box office, ‘Tubelight’ is running on very few shows at multiplexes and the occupancy level for those shows – all across the country – is dismal.
The second weekend collections of a few films in recent times are as follows:
- Bahubali 2 (Hindi) - 80.75 crore
- Dangal - 73.7 crore
- Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 56.1 crore
- Sultan - 34.07 crore
- Badrinath Ki Dulhania - 17.56 crore
- Hindi Medium - 12.14 crore
- Tubelight – 8 crore (approx)
The above comparison sums up the disastrous trend of ‘Tubelight’, as the second weekend collections is less than 10% of ‘Bahubali 2 (Hindi)’ and half of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ which was a much smaller film.
The second weekend business of ‘Sultan’ wasn’t excellent last year, the trend wasn’t even close to as good as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, yet in comparison to the latest Salman Khan Eid release, ‘Sultan’ business was on a different level altogether.
‘Tubelight’ has collected around 115 crore in its first 10 days. It’ll finish with lifetime business in the 120 crore net range, which is just a little better than Jai Ho – the only other under-performing Salman Khan film in the last 7 years.

Box office is so so unpredictable. Salman who started this decade with veer in January of 2010, got 8 blockbusters till now & it should be 10 blockbusters tzh & bharat/d3/dancer dad.
Before the release of T.L Bhai fans said that T.L will collect 400cr and 1000cr w.w, Now it’s Total Disaster…Non actor can’t do challenging role, He can do only masala type role….

abey jhandu – according to u lungiwalas, Bodyguard, Dabangg, ETT, PRDP etc too had no content and story still srk failed to beat Bodyguard’s 148 crs wothout Deepika… So obviously Salman is bigger than Content but film like Tubelight doesn’t work without content, if it were massy film then it doesn’t matter… If Tubelight had some actions like Fan it would have easily crossed 200 crs.

Unlike SRK whose neither content film work nor action and massy
Fan ka review Tubelight jaisa hota to Shayad 50 crs bhi cross karna impossible tha.

When Salman was dating Katrina before 2010 he was giving duds. After breakup he started giving Blockbusters. He had a dream run. Now friendship with Katrina has resulted in flop Tubelight. Hope he stays away from jinxed woman.

What salman fans did during raees delayed time by calling him bhagoda, gangu teli, and many more and said that srk is scared of salman and postponed raees to avoid clash and still clashed with small struggling actor hrithik’s kaabil guess what, the same delayed clashed film raees which also faced more negativity and wrath is leading solo eid released tubelight be it opening or life time. This is slap on salman fans face. Nothing against salman though because I like him but his gawaar cheap fans needed this treatment. I am not srk fan though but what you give you get back. So TL screen count = 3.78 * DZ
DZ lifetime collection – 66.46 crore
So Tubelight lifetime collection should be
3.78* 66.46 = 251 crore
But Tubelight is going to collect half of it 125 crore.
So it is proved Salman even lost by a supporting role SRK film. Too much fun
