Song’s composition and lyrics being excellent is one thing… hats off to Pritam and Irshad for that. Singer’s performance is different matter altogether. Atif doesn’t sound more than an untrained soul-less voice in all of his songs including this one also. Had it not been due to the highly sophisticated recording facilities available nowadays he would not have got to sing some of hindi film songs.
I say he actually spoilt this such a beautiful song (superb lyrics and music)… just listen to Soham, Rana Mazumdar and Ashish Pandit’s version of this song and you will forget Atif

I second Mayank on this… Even if you listen to Kailash Kher’s version, one can understand what vocal prowess he(Kailash) has gifted to this song… Soham, Rana Mazumdar and Ashish Pandit’s version is also good.. but some how the Unplugged version steals my heart every time i hear it.. an auditory treat..i must say.. :)
