Strong words from some of the trade analysts on My Name Is Khan, three well known trade pundits speak.
Komal Nahta – My Name Is Khan is far from entertaining and also too boring for the general masses. For the heavy budget at which it has been made, it will keep its worldwide distributors (Fox Searchlight) in the red. Business in big cities, especially in South India, Muslim centers and overseas will be better but it will be below the mark in North India as also in smaller centers and single-screen cinemas. It may be appreciated by the class audience but the masses will reject the film.
Vinod Mirani – The curiosity value is over, it seems. The picture has suffered a considerable drop in collections on Monday,
The most shocking words though came from Amod Mehra, another well know Trade Analyst “At this moment, it appears the film will not be able to recover the cost because it has been sold at a high price.” On the film receiving 5 star reviews, he said “Earlier there were paid previews of the film, now there is paid review of the film.”

Paid reviewss, all these manipulations are done to keep one person in limelight. look at zee . just because dishtv is endoresed by sharukh, they are just prasing everything about mnik. everybody know lagaan was the knockout punch from aamir. after that only idiots says that sharukh is no. 1. brands like nokia, airtel will not give away so easily they will try their best to keep this khan in limelight. it’s on public to be aware of these people.

these things must come in media (neutral one) to completely expose the duo of karan and srk they have done thing which salman has just talk after the poor reviews that they are bought and not the neutral one (not everyone but surely taran sell himself) . i am happy that i am a fan of sallu and aamir and not a a!! h!!e like srk sorry for this but this news show that srk can even sell this country to make his film a hit shame on srk shame on karan

Since i saw the film i was sure that it was paid review, how can such a movie get so good ratings, sharukh dissapoints the fans by doing this movie but yes he will win award, all abnormal character gets award in india maybe that sufficient for him-actor of the year who created a situation which got free publicity or maybe he did not creat it but he has a good luck

The problem is the word-of-mouth. Its not too strong, many are disappointed with the film. I think the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the controversy are to be blamed if the film doesn’t do too well.

Indicine ..Omer Qureshi on Zoom tv gave MNIK 5 stars which was the limit coz any movie can’t be perfect.Now if I compare Veer with MNIK more ppl saw Veer than MNIK in opening weekend but due to multiplex collections MNIK scored.I really dunu what to say about Shahrukh its better he works on his movies rather than making connections wid media..

Sorry Indicine & guys, it is a flop if shahrukh was not there, i really didnt understand the film, shahrukh can play this role even without the diseases, there is nothing but a focus to say “My Name Is Khan”.. Critics giving it unneccesary 4 or 5 stars.. it deserves max 3 stars but i give 2.5 stars.. As box office concern this film working because of shahrukh’s stardom & karan’s brand.. Shahrukh remains best for chak de india & swades & karan is better makes family films..
Aditya, watch MNIK without expectations and you’ll like it for its sincerity and message. But over-hype could result in disappointment.
The most read review is Times (one which appears on the paper, not indiatimes) and almost everyone we spoke to said, if Times gave it 5, it should be good. The same people came out disappointed.

No offense to MNIK, but i wanst exactly a 3 idiots in terms of content. I wonder why time gave it 5? Thats the first ive heard of a 5 star rating.
The movie dnt deserve 5 stars at all……. coz it’s not perfect…… n drags in d 2nd half……. so the picture is pretty clear dat it is going in the Veer way…. only diff is that it has scored in d multiplexes……. but if it continues to drop lyk dis…… it will achieve average status maximum!!!

Aamir chooses movies wich can gross alot like Ghajini and 3 Idiots.
If Shahrukh khan do movies like that it will easily do 200 crore in india.

I am not that huge of a srk fan and 1 thing I noticed in this movie is what actually was the whole point in meeting the president.
No doubt srk gave a good performance but Salman in Veer was definetely better than this but still at the end of the day he will get all the awards lol.
And about the paide reviews it is correct that the reviews are being paid these days.
This movie to the max deserves nothing more than 3.5 IMO.

Well Indicine: I think the movie is not that bad. Komal Nahta, Amod Mehra and Vinod Mirani are the only ones speaking negative about the movie. Other than them, every single critic has given 3.5 to 5 stars to this movie. To be Honest, the movie is nice and it is worth a watch guys…. the only flaw in the movie is that disease of SRK which could have been avoided easliy….
Anywayz, every has his/her own opinion but to find honest comments is very difficult these days…. It is better that you go and watch the movie urself and then decide……

Srk film getting good reviews undeservingly is not news to me, but to go to the extent of giving bad reviews to Salman film, thats just a new low.
I don’t know whether SRK is behind this, or its the producers/distributors or even the media acting on its own .. but its very clear that MNIK got higher ratings than it deserved and Veer got much lower ratings than it deserved, and I do smell a connection between the two.

I live in Boston,USA, still house full two shows a day, I saw the movie looked like I was in some politocal part crowd, ant way now the economy is global village, FOX bough rights in 80 carores worldwide and in 3 days the net business is Domestic India is 29.5 carore and international 25 carores, total 55 carore in three days, anyway in US and multiplex in IDia gonna rock, and accoring to Taran and BOI if MINIK would have started early shows in Mahrastar would have crossed 3 idiots as it already crossed Gajini in total nett. accept it or reject it, facts are below

i saw MNIK on sunday, the movie was very disaponting…i am a big fan of SRK…SRK acted well,but after 15 min in the movie his acting gets irritated ..second half drags,the biggest negativiity of the film is it’s screenplay.the movie tries to tell us just one thing,”MY NAME IS KHAN AND I’M NOT A TERRORIST”.the story looks interesting but when u see the movie u get bored due to it’s screenplay… karan johar is best in making candy floss family entertaining movies but he has to grow in direction to make such a sensitive based movie ..my rating would be 2.5/5..3 idiots was way better than MNIK…i don’t understand why they r comparing 3i and MNIK…even a flop movie like veer was entertaining in parts…ON THE WHOLE I CAN SAY THAT mnik WAS VERY VERY disaponting and boring…the movie is just for film festivals.

MNIK got fab reviews….out of ten people (SRK fans) here in the UK who rushed to c it on the first day, 9 were so pissed and felt it was a waste of money! Boring they said! So this article explains it all!
