Top 10 Hindi Songs: September 2013

Top 10 Hindi Songs in September 2013

1. Lungi Dance (Chennai Express): Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Lungi Dance is rocking the charts everywhere. The film’s unimaginable box-office run has given a further boost to the already popular music album. Theatre going audience is not leaving the cinema halls after the climax and are staying back to watch the ‘Lungi Dance’ on big screen.

2. Gulabi (Shuddh Desi Romance): This fabulous song ‘Gulabi’ from Shuddh Desi Romance is based on and picturized on the beautiful Pink City of India – Jaipur. The duo of Sachin-Jigar have finally made it big with the musical succcess of this YRF production. Some of their compositions were noteworthy in F.A.L.T.U , ABCD, Oh.. My God , Go Goa Gone and Ramaiya Vastavaiya.

3. Tum Hi Ho (Aashiqui 2): ‘Tum Hi Ho’ is unaffected by the continous inflow of new music albums and is rock steady in the Top 3 for the past 6 months. Without an iota of doubt, Aashiqui 2 is the best music album of 2013 till now. As both the movies comprise of two of the best soundtracks of Indian Cinema, Music lovers are eagerly waiting for the third instalment of this franchise.

4. Titli (Chennai Express): Any SRK starrer is incomplete without a love melody and the Vishal-Shekhar duo boast of this uncanny knack of churning out genuine unadulterated melodies. ‘Titli’ has been sung magically by Chinmayi and Gopi and the Tamil chorus reminds of SRK’s ‘Jiya Jale’ from Dil Se.

5. Tu Mere Agal Bagal (Phata Poster Nikhla Hero):Pritam is sitting pretty at the top and is churning out hits left, right and center now. After Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and OUATIMD , he is back in the charts again with Rajkumar Santhoshi’s ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’. And what’s more, he will end this year with a Dhoom! ‘Agal Bagal’ is a naughty track in the unique voice of Mika.

6. Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai (Besharam): Wow! After a long time, we get to hear the vocals of Abhijeet in this Lalit Pandit composition from Besharam. The music reminds us of the signature tune of ‘Jo Haal Dil Ka’ from Sarfarosh, which was also composed by Jatin-Lalit. Shreya Ghoshal is wonderful as always.

7. Zinda (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag): Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is in the running for all the major awards this year. This passionate and inspirational track from ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ has been energetically sung by Shankar Mahadevan’s son Siddharth. Prasoon Joshi’s tough lyrics (e.g. ‘kanchaa toote choora kaanch kar de’) combined with background guitar music make the song very encouraging.

8. Party All Night (Boss): Yo Yo Honey Singh is having the time of his life. After success of his songs in Cocktail, Son Of Sardaar, Khiladi 786 and Chennai Express, he is again in top form with his naughty yet hummable rapping. The lovely dance inducing hip-hop rhythm coupled with some very identifiable lyrics makes this a sure shot hit.

9. Tum Tak (Raanjhanaa): A R Rahman’s only musical album this year ‘Raanjhanaa’ has managed to live upto his reputation of a master composer. If ‘Highway’ does not release this year, Hindi music fans will have to wait till 2014 for a Rahman composition. A song with a blend of romantic and spiritual elements, ‘Tum Tak’ has been beautifully crooned by Javed Ali.

10. Badtameez Dil (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani): Noone expected the kind of moolah ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ has generated at the ticket window. Pritam’s music has played an important role in the phenomenal success of the movie. Although the album is now on its way to move out of the charts, it’s evergreen songs will continue to rock the dance floors.
