Apart from addressing the media on the ‘Being a Khan’ article controversy, Shahrukh Khan also launched the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) on Tuesday.
The superstar said “I feel very fortunate to be here. The TOIFA is a fantastic platform. It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of it. There are so many award functions today but TOIFA stands for goodness, honesty and class. These will help us respect and understand awards”
SRK also added that he would be performing at the TOIFA Awards 2013 “I would be performing at the function. It is just a couple of months away. I have just landed and was under the weather with a cold. But as soon as I recover I will be meeting Shiamak (Davar) and planning for the awards.”
The TOIFA Awards will be held in Vancouver between April 4th to 6th. The awards show will be hosted by Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
A jury will pick the nominations, after which the public will get a chance to vote and pick the winners.
In a promotional video, Khan said “TOIFA will truly be a game changer. The Times of India group and the Indian film industry has had a relationship of over a century, over a 100 years, which is way many more years than I have been born. The TOIFA Times Of India Awards will take place in Vancouver. We are going to write history in golden letters. I am extremely excited to be a part of this history in making. I hope all of you are there at Vancouver on the 6th of April 2013”
