Tanu Weds Manu Returns has completed 25 super successful days at the box office and has emerged an ’All Time Blockbuster’- the first of 2015 and the first since Aamir Khan’s PK.
The film has collected Rs 143.5 crore and has beaten films like Rowdy Rathore, Dabangg and Bodyguard. The next target is Dabangg 2, but the collections of that film (Rs 155 crore) will be out of reach, as Tanu Weds Manu Returns is likely to end its glorious run with net box office collections of around 150 crore.

The Kangana Ranaut starrer has also grossed more than Rs 250 crore worldwide, which is an incredible achievement for a film made on a budget of around 32 crore.
In terms of small to medium budget films doing extraordinary business, Tanu Weds Manu Returns has set the benchmark so high that it will be tough for any film to make such profits. Even though a film like ‘PK’ exceeded trade expectations, the Rajkumar Hirani – Aamir Khan film was always expected to be a huge grosser, but for a film that was best expected to collect Rs 75 crore in India, Tanu Weds Manu Returns has almost done double the business.
Previously, smaller films like ‘Aashiqui 2’ and ‘OMG! Oh My God’ have gone on to be huge grossers, but very few films in the last decade or so have achieved what ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ has. The achievement only gets bigger when you consider the fact that the film did not even have a bankable male star.
Verdict – ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER
With megastars like the Khans turning 50 this year and the industry still waiting for its next big superstar after Hrithik Roshan, will the future of the industry be content-driven films? Will true superstardom end with the likes of the Khans, Kumars and Roshans? Will the industry no longer be a male-dominated one in the future? While it’s too early to draw such conclusions from the success of just one film, a few more successes like ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ might get filmmakers and corporate houses thinking!

Salman’s path of entertainment is all set to end…its SRKs love for technology upliftment (and he chosed content over technology sometimes) and Aamirs love for content will prevail(though he chosed bad to average content sometimes)…the day of only entertainment,entertainment and entertainment and sex is a bubbel which will flow and burst in due time….but AAMIR and SRK will reign in their own way….also HR is chosing action body and dance over anything and thats why he will fade away and he also not in the list of AAMIR SRK….Akki will continue on his own way of doing more and more films and yougstars and Sahid will never ever achieve what the two Khans have achieved…seroiusly this two KHANS are the true and only piure superstar,megastar whatever you call them…one should expect their content and technology mix together and give us awesome films…:-)

Hats off to actors like Hrithik and Aamir for experimenting with their versatility.
Despite being a highly bankable actor, these stars never hesitate to do an off-beat film like Guzaarish and Dhobi Ghat. Glad that Akki is doing good films too. SRK has done some bad films in this decade like Ra.One,CE and HNY. But atleast his choices are better than the Teesra khan who is doing masala after masala as even though Raone was scriptless, it was an experiment.

yes the industry would no longer be male dominated. But there are many reasons for it
1. piracy – If the film does not have extraordinary content like pk then Youngsters prefer to download that film untill there favorite star is present in that movie
2. Hollywood influence – now hollywood movies have started doing gr8 business in india
we can watch movies like furious 7 or avengers or jurassic world
at same rate. and anybody can tell that hollywood movies are way better
than bollywood movies
3. lack of stars like khans roshans or kumar
yes there are ranbir kapoors and ranveer singhs
\but noone of them are like khans or amitabh bachchan
4 . and yes movies like kahani, queen, piku , twmr and even jolly llb , vicky donor , madras cafe
are making huge impact on audience on simple power of their content
I think its a good thing , now script writers will get their due also this will reduce quantity of movies done by any star

This movie has taken Kangana to the Numero Uno position in Bollywood . Leave the trade and audiences even the producers did not expect such mammoth collections . It will be interesting to see Kangana’s movies in future such as Simran and Rangoon . This movie will come in Top 5 of Highest Grossers of 2015 when this year will get over and that will be a huge achievement for Madhavan and Kangana . Anand L Rai will also get more chances to direct movies after giving TWM, Raanjhanaa and TWMR . Let us see whether ir will collect 150 CR or not even if it does not collect then also it will be a Mindboggling Achievement . Hats Off !!!!!!!!!

I don’t think the industry will stop being male dominated..there is Ranbir Kapoor,Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra all of whom have established serious fan base and their films are getting good starts(except BV).
What the success of TWMR and other films like NH10,mardaani,English Vinglish,queen has done that it has given enough confidence to the producers to put money on offbeat films,give chance to creative directors and that’s the biggest positive the industry should forward to.
Though I think the Khans,Akki,Hrithik,Ajay have reached a stage where they can experiment.It won’t hurt them much even if the film fails.What’s the point of giving the same regular masala films which may be entertaining but you know the story most of the time before watching the films.
