Tanu Weds Manu Returns is on a dream run at the box office. The film is the highest first week grosser of the year, both in the domestic and overseas markets, ahead of much-bigger films like Gabbar Is Back, Baby and Piku.
The Madhavan – Kangana starrer has collected Rs 70 crore (net) in Week 1 in India and grossed Rs 25.5 crore in the overseas markets. The worldwide gross currently stands at around Rs 119.6 crore.

Looking at the way ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ has sustained on its 2nd Friday, the film is almost certain to be the first 100 crore film of the year and could eventually gross Rs 200 crore worldwide!
Only 20 films in the history of Indian Cinema have grossed Rs 200 crore worldwide. Interestingly, if ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ crosses the milestone, it will be first film without a bankable male star to gross 200 crore. 14 of those belong to the Khans and Hrithik has two. The remaining four featured Akshay Kumar (Rowdy Rathore), Ajay Devgn (Singham Returns), Ranbir Kapoor (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) and Ranveer Singh / Deepika Padukone (Ram Leela)
So a film like Tanu Weds Manu Returns grossing 200 crore would be a massive achievement.

Watched yesterday.what a great film! Exceptional performance by Kangana.really hats off to Her.this film is all about kangana vs kangana,a one lady show.actually I didn’t planned ti watch this,but free time got a valuable watch this time.the 2nd installment is far incredible and better than the 1st one.beat An and L Rai film till date after tanu weds manu.the songs are even too much good.especially that “ghani baawri” track was awesome.and another track “I’m an old school girl” is also too good.Kangana’s haryanvi role outshined her actual one.really hats off to such a natural performance.best film of 2015 so far.and I’m requesting everybody to watch the best performance of this year till date.

Amazing but not surprising.
Trailer was the best of 2015, songs were catchy and more importantly bollywood queen was returning to box-office after national award win.
Also this is the power of positive WOM. Good to see good films doing good business.
I genuinly feel at the end of 2015 TWMR may well feature in top 5 grossers of 2015.

The storm by which this film has taken boxoffice I think by sunday i.e, in 10 day of its run it should cross 100cr mark in India and become the highest grossing film of 2015.
Incredible achievement and completely deserved.
Adding to that TWMR will have also more W-W gross than Ready..

Watched TWMR.
Predictable,not entirely convincing,yet consistantly engaging and offers big entertainment. Cinematography is perfect and Production design is realistic. The last part is too good.
Kangana is brilliant as Kusum. I rooted for both of her characters. All the actors have acted very well.

Rightly said dude. I would go notch a higher and say not only the best performance of 2015 but of this decade 2011-2020 considering both male and female actors.
This is a performance which will remain in the hearts of people for long long time. You can watch it over and over again and like it even more on every next viewing.
That is what called getting completely into the skin of character, forgetting who you actually are.
Kangana has earned respect and many fans across the globe for this performance. And I hope this is just the beginning.
