Tamasha has collected Rs 38.23 crore in its first weekend at the box office, making it the 8th highest opening weekend of 2015, ahead of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ and behind ‘Gabbar Is Back’.
The film took a slow start on Friday morning, but picked up towards the end of the day. On Saturday, Tamasha showed excellent growth in business. But the Saturday level is where the film should have opened at, which meant that a big jump was again required on Sunday. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the Sunday business of Tamasha was just 7% more than Saturday.
The costs are on the higher side, so it remains to be seen where the film goes from here. It would require a strong hold on Monday, somewhere in the 6-7 crore range, to have any chance of recovering costs in the long time.

Watched tamasha yesterday and here is my review.
Plot-same imtiaz Ali story but a little intense.
Review-The film starts very slowly and the 1st half is watchable only because of ranbir and the beautiful locations and everyone will agree that depikaa looks very beautiful. the second half is more funny when ranbir become a kind of psycho.
Tamasha could have been better if imtiaz Ali was in full form and music would have been as ar rahman’s standards.
Ranbir acted very well actually he is more comfortable in romantic films which are made for urbans just like said.
Deepika did not act to her full potential but was good.
My rating is 2.5stars out of 5

HS3 also create a curiosity among audience due to its thrilling Trailer.

watched tamasha nice movie with nice message hirani type of treatment should be given as you are making movie for Indian audience.will find tough to get hit status..but I liked and get message that is enough for me.

Watched it yesterday!! Ranbir-Deepika are outstanding.Movie is good but it lacks entertainment.
I will give 3 stars for the movie and half for RK-DP.
I don’t understand people spreading negativity around this movie. Its one of the finest movies of the year. & Ranbir putting in one of the best performances of the year too. I won’t be surprised if he walks away with his 3rd Filmfare after Rockstar and Barfi ! Hopefully the movie will show good trend and end up with good figures. Kudos !

Boring movie, wasted 2 hours of my life watching it.
Overseas bussiness is very good, but why do social or romantic films do well in overseas.For example salmans kick and dabbang movies were not huge in overseas, Rom com has strong audience in overseas, but action and comedy don’t do well that much except flicks which are sequel like dhoom series.A film like Baby and sp26 were poor in overseas but then Housfull and even Sing is bling did well in overseas.

Ved Bajirao Fan, if India business finishes at 80 crore, Tamasha would have to do business in the range of $9-10 million overseas. Just to recover costs. Looks highly unlikely at this point in time.

poor weekend’s return for distributors means its
indeed flop. it could be get average verdict due to os collections.
BDW where they waste 90crs for this movie. 70% shots are taken in indoor.no good supporting casts. no good CGI ..there were only deepika and ranbir in every scene.
