Sultan is the first blockbuster of 2016, as the film is on a historic, record-smashing run at the box office. The film is achieving never-before-seen levels of business at the domestic box office. The Saturday collections of Sultan will be its best day and the film is set to cross the 37-38 crore mark on Saturday – making it the best non-holiday single day of all time.
Multiplexes went berserk on Saturday, with some growing by 20-25%. From North to South, East to West, the multiplex business of Sultan was at record levels. The positive sign was, the family audience who were coming out in big numbers to watch the film.
At some centres that we tracked, the 4th day of Sultan was better than the first day collections of films like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Happy New Year and Dhoom 3.
What’s even more incredible is this stat – the 4th ‘working day’ collections of Sultan is higher than the 2nd day ‘Eid holiday’ collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan – which collected 36.60 crore. Since we maintain a database of collections at various centres, the 4th day of Sultan was also higher the 3rd day (Sunday) collections of PK – which collected 38.24 crore.

Sultan has collected a record-breaking 144 crore in its first 4 days at the box office. It’s the highest grosser of the year, pretty much destroying the records of every film that has released so far this year – including biggies like Airlift and Housefull 3. Sultan will also be the fastest to the 150 crore mark.
All eyes will now be on Sunday. The film is certain to record collections in excess of 40 crore on Sunday and even a 45 crore plus total is achievable.
We had earlier said in one of our QnA’s that it’s Salman Khan who is capable of pushing the upper limit when it comes to box office records and he’s done just that with his latest release. The worldwide gross of the film has crossed the 275 crore mark in just 4 days!

This is just incredible. The movie as an overall might be a little less of a package than Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but it certainly showcases Salman Khan as a better actor. While I am sure it will do amazing tomorrow (Sunday), I hope it sustains well on weekdays.

SuULTAN is a well made film which has a good script with powerfull perfomances,watching it again today.Salman Khan is proving again that he is the biggest star today,over 150cr+ in 5 days is just crazy.
I am totally humbled by this sort of response to the movie. No words can describe how big these collections are and how happy I am for Salman Khan. That poor guy Zafar was butt of all jokes even after giving successful films, this should put an end to his trolls as well. Simply put, Salman deserved this, the whole cast deserved this.
Within 4 days Sultan beat Dilwale lifetime.
Tomorrow 40 crore and lifetime minimum 300+, feel bad for people who are still commenting that HNY has highest first day collection( that too not real collection).
