Sultan has collected Rs 180.36 crore in its extended first weekend at the box office, which is the highest 5-day collections of all-time and comparable to the first week collections of films like Dhoom 3 (188.99 crores – all versions), PK (182.89 crores) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (184.65 crores).
Basically, the film is the fastest to reach every figure in its first weekend and the only film to collect more than 30 crore on each of its first 5 days.
The occupancy was high throughout the weekend, which didn’t allow the film to show big growth on Sunday. The consistency is what was staggering, because the level of business was about the same on a working day, partial holiday and full holiday on Sunday. The biggest growth probably came on Saturday – a trend that should continue this weekend too – much like Bajrangi Bhaijaan last year.
After a record breaking weekend, collections have come down on Monday. A lot of centres that we tracked in the noon, dropped by 45-50% from Wednesday (first day). Ticket prices are down from the weekend rates, but still higher than the usual working weekday prices.
As of 2PM, crossing the 200 crore in 6 days is looking difficult, but the day-trend of Sultan over the last few days has been big growth evening onwards.

Sultan has had an unbelievable extended five day weekend grossing around 181.50 crore apprx nett in five days. These figures are similar to what Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK did in seven days. The film just shattered almost every record in the book. There was a dip on Friday which was a working day but the film went up to the Eid levels again on Saturday and Sunday. An early estimate for Sunday is 39 crore nett apprx.

Sultan has done terrific business in the first 5 days with an average of 36 CR per day . I always expected Sultan to utilize the extended weekend to the fullest but today the real game begins . Sultan has easily become the Highest Grosser of 2016 and will beat TJB today . But if Sultan has to enter 300 CR Club and break BB and PK it has to sustain very well during the weekdays . Most of the people have seen Sultan in the first 5 days so now how many people will watch Sultan again in theatres ? If Sultan maintains it can finish with extremely high collections but if it drops than it will be interesting to see the final number . GGM has been badly affected by online leak in the same way as Manjhi and UP . GGM is mainly targeted towards single screen audiences and youngsters . Madaari on 22nd will not do any significant damage to Sultan . Dishoom on 29th is lacking the kind of buzz which trade and the audience expected . Also by the time Dishoom releases Sultan will complete 3 weeks which will make it crystal clear whether Sultan will enter 300 CR Club or not . Sultan has done terrific business in Overseas especially in Pakistan and UAE . The Worldwide collections will also be compared with D3, BB, CE, Baahubali and PK .
