Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year releases in theatres today. While the verdict from the audience will be out in a few hours, the industry is all praises for the film starring newcomers Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.

- Rahul Nanda (Filmfare) – No one makes you fall in love like Karan Johar. An awesome breezy, flick he has sculpted. Emotions and moments are pat in place. 3 stars are born! What a canvas Varun, Aalia and Sid have and they make the most of it at every level. Reminded me of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I’m in love. Ishq wala love, radha and disco deewane had me dancing in the theatre itself. Also Kajol’s guest appearance was super! Left me wanting more. The supporting cast is also the heart of Student Of The Year. Sana Sayeed u little beauty. Lifted the film with no expression out of place. Also Kaizo.
- Tanuj Garg (CEO Balaji Motion Pictures) – An emotional and entertaining take on friendship.. enjoyed ‘Student of the Year’.. well done Karan Johar! I luv my school friends even more! The debutants are stars.. supremely confident.. Varun, Sid and Alia shine and how! Needless to mention, our good ol’ Rishi Kapoor!

I’ve heard some of the reviews of SOTY and they are not good.According to them its a mix up of Goblet Of Fire,Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and 3 Idiots.

@Rohit whr are those reviews sirji???? every crtics including taran adarsh, omer qureshi, TOI gives it 4 or 3.5 stars and called it brillient….
i am dying to watch this movie. Some people who always tries to spread negativity about everything is calling it bakwas….exactly they are bakwas bcoz they didnt watch this movie and they already declared it flop….hohoho shame on u guys…..get some real job….

this is karan’s best work after 2 disasters KANK & MNIK.
karan’s best film was kuch kuch hota hai & this is his 2nd best. MNIK & KANK were bakwaas movies.

Hahaha OMG that must be the joke of the year! Alia Bhatt is gorgeous and Angelic? REALY? KAJOL IS the one that is gorgeous,angelic and much more! If any female new comer is goin to rule bollywood than its Diana Penty or Parineeti Chopra! Alia is average looking and sometimes even ugly…Lets just hope she is at least a good actresse

@Rohit i dont watch zee news bcoz its not worth to watch. there are better news channel which provides much more proper news than that. Almost every critics called it brillient and for those who didnt see news till now, movie already opened with bang on the BO. It opened with 100% opening in most of the places in India and even in overseas it opened with high numbers…..already declared hit…..

Came back from cinema now.. saw the film.. a good film as I expected.. both the 3 newcomers all are good specially Varun Dhawan.. his performance was very good as a new face in the industry.. Sidharth.. wow.. a good looking, handsome, performed well too and I think he’ll be so good in future, he just needs more motivation for acting.
Alia Bhatt.. she’s cute, got innocence look and I think she’ll have a bright future in the industry.. I remember Sanjay Leela Bhansali was thinking to do a Romeo and Juliette film.. she’ll be the best for the role of Juliette and Varun as Romeo ( Indicine ppl pls forward my message to Mr. Bhansali)
