I have to disagree. I am a huge Salman Khan fan. I also agree that his performance in Wanted was one of the best of his career. However you have to understand, Star Screen Awards are probably one of the most prestigious awards as they are awarded based on the Film Fraternity and not by audience.
That being said, Salman should not have been nominated and he wasn’t. It was one of his best performances, but how can you overlook Ranbir or Amitabh or Shahid even for that matter? Even Saif gave one of his best performanes for Love Aaj Kal. Infact I can easily go ahead and say that Salman’s performance ranks behind not just these but also behind’s Saif’s in Kurbaan, Ranbir’s in Wake up Sid.
Asim said that Shahid was okay in Kaminey. It clearly shows that either he hasn’t seen the movie Kaminey or he is just a biased Salman khan fan!! The way he made us believe in both of the characters with the lisp and the stuttering was amazing. Saif in LAK was also really good as he mastered the punjabi as well as the modern role to perfection. Ranbir has been consistently topping himself. Infact if the year ended when Wake Up Sid came out, SHahid would have won best actor with Ranbir a close second for wake up sid!! then ranbir topped himself in APKGK and RSSMOTY!!! As for Aamir, just watch 3 idiots, and you would know why he belongs on the list. He is clearly the front runner for this award along with Amitabh. And finally Amitabh for PAA was the best. the fact that they useed so much make-up only make it harder for him to act convincingly, but amitabh found a way. His mannerisms, expressions even with the make-up — simly amazing!!
Final verdict: i think the best actor award is a tossup between Aamir for 3 idiots and Amitabh for Paa with Shahid being a close 3rd! I would say amitabh will get it because Aamir doesn’t attend these functions!
Amitabh must win best actor in both popular and critics category for his excellent performance and dedication at the age of 68….other nominations in best actor doesn’t really matter…….3-Idiots will probably sweep the awards in most of categories
salman should get the nomination for wanted and he might win inshallah but if they dont nominate him i will see how they gona ignore him next year when he will come with veer and im 100% sure he will win his first best actor award with veer.

I think Kavita Seth Deserves for the best female playback singer for the song Iktara. She is India’s one of the best Sufi Singers. Her videos on Yuotube are just awesome
