Rumors have been on an overdrive, ever since news about Farhan Akhtar’s exit from Raees has been leaked, as to who would take his place.
Speculations have been put to a stop now that sources have confirmed about Nawazuddin Siddiqui being the proposed replacement. Reports indicate that negotiations are underway with Excel Entertainment over his inclusion.
Raees has Shah Rukh Khan playing the local don. According to sources, Nawaz was the unanimous choice as he was apt for the role, which is totally based on performance. Sources reveal that though Farhan was happy with the script, the change in the schedule due to SRK’s injuries has made it impossible for him to reorganize his dates.
Sources even elaborated that with Farhan unable to adjust his dates, he had reluctantly agreed to quit as he did not want any delay in the film which he is already committed to. Raees is set to be released post-monsoon according to the film’s spokesperson.
The film with Gujarat as backdrop has Shah Rukh, the superstar playing a mafia don. Special makeup effects are expected in the film with expert makeup artistes from Hollywood being engaged for the project.
Reports have disclosed that Nawaz’s role will be a meaty one as he will be sharing prominent screen space with the superstar.

Fahran as good performer as Nawaazuddin but Farhan has better charm and better screen presence so the film won’t be the same despite the fact that Siddiqi will do justice to his role but the face value will not be the same!
@sami, film has shahrukh khan. What more face value does it need? Just hoping that both srk and nawaz will give fabulous performances with the backdrop of an interesting and entertaining story.
If only Farhan stayed on and Nawaz replaced SRK then film would stand a decent chance of being a success both critically n commercially. Nawaz bhai n Farhan are good calibre actors whereas SRK is stuttering performer whose fans mistake his stuttering as great acting n good body language…!

Raees will be a good movie as casting is good but does negative character,romantic roles are save for Srk, ya to don banega ya lover boy. Lol do something better which is appreciable like you did CDI and Swades else…
@Dev its great Talaash wasn’t a hit for you unless after Ghajini,3i and D3 there would be a major hit like Talaash in between than you will turned Devdas and would say”kaun kambhakhat peeta h jeene k liye,hum to peete h ki Aamir ki success hajam kar sake”lol. I wish Farhan would replaced Aamir in that film and than it could be major hit, atleast it will provide more confidence for Raees success but right now its Nawaz who will do that role.

@Triniman : Thats why Ready was a Blockbuster, Salman does not believe in stammering or overacting. His witty dialogue lines n entertainment is enough to bring audience. He does not need YRF, AR Rahman, Kat combo with festival release to bring audience n still struggle to reach 120 crores. Now you will talk about Jai Ho, let any actor do social oriented movie with not a single holiday (apart from regular weekends) n score above 100 crores. Also come out of 2000-2008 period its been 6 six years. Still if you wanna talk about past even Sunny Deol thrashed Srk n you have countless craps of srk like Guddu, Chahat, Maya Memsaab, Oh Darling Yeh Hai India, One 2 ka Four, English Babu Desi Mem, Zaamana Deewana !!!!! grow up.
