Soulful melodies like ‘Tere Naam’ in Salman’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

The music album of ‘Tere Naam’ is the most soulful album of Himesh Reshammiya’s career and arguably the best of the 2000s too.

The ace-music composer, who gave partially gave up his super-successful career as music director and singer to try his luck at acting, reunites with Salman Khan for Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

A source close to the film has revealed that the 9-song music album will have traditional Barjatya feel and will mostly be soulful melodies, something that is rare in today’s times.

“Himesh Reshammiya has composed all nine songs on the album. They will have the traditional Barjatya touch and will mostly be soulful melodies. Himesh has roped in some of the best talents in the industry to sing his songs. He is making sure the album stands out, without any item numbers.” a source said.

He also added that the title track will be sung by two of the most popular songs of 90s and 2000s – Sonu Nigam and Kumar Sanu.

“Sonu Nigam and Kumar Sanu will sing the title track. Salman will lip sync to Sonu’s voice whereas Neil Nitin Mukesh will lip sync to Kumar’s. Also, Palak Muchhal will sing a romantic track that will have Sonam Kapoor and Salman romancing typical Barjatya style. There will be two soulful Sufi numbers – one sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali and the other by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.”

And guess what? Salman is in love with the music of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which releases in theatre during Diwali this year.
