Much like Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Son Of Sardar too has opened well at the box office. The opening is best in the North (Delhi/UP, Punjab) with the morning shows running at 80-90% occupancy.
In Gujarat and Rajasthan too the Ajay Devgn starrer is off to a good start. At smaller centres, especially single screens, the response has been outstanding (a few centres were even better than Golmaal 3 and Bol Bachchan). Long queues were witnessed at places where tickets were not sold in advance. At multiplexes, the shorter runtime has helped as SOS has been allotted almost the same number of shows as JTHJ.
South (Mysore circuit) and West Bengal were poor.
All in all, both Diwali releases have opened well. Business is likely to drop for the late-afternoon and evening shows in certain parts of the country.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) will be huge for both films.
