‘Rock On 2’ is the worst opening for a film starring Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, from the time she made a comeback with ‘Aashiqui 2’ which many believe is her debut film in the industry.
Not many are aware that Shraddha made her debut in Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Teen Patti’, which released in 2010. It was a minor role and the film was a box office disaster. She returned a year later in ‘Luv Ka The End’, a small budget film that did not work.
However, post the release and ‘blockbuster’ success of ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shraddha had hit a purple patch which included successful films like ‘Ek Villain’, ‘ABCD 2’ and ‘Baaghi’. The common factor in all those films was the excellent opening that all the films took, especially at smaller centres where she gained a huge followed because of ‘Aashiqui 2’.
Her success streak is likely to end with ‘Rock On 2’, a film that didn’t appeal to her core fan base.

Shraddha Kapoor has quite impressive acting skills and she is also very charming and sweet.But she still can improve and do better.Although people say that she did overacting in some of her movies but I think she did justice with the kind of character that was to be portrayed by her.
Shraddha singing is so annoying….she isn’t a good actor forget singing….

Excel can’t afford another underperformer after big flops like bangistan ,bbd, rock on2 ,etc. They should shift Raees release date .Raees is a big movie it deseves a solo release. I’m a srk fan but still i want it to postpone we have waited 1 year ,then we can also wait for 3-4 months more. Nothing against Hrithik and rakesh sir. They have announced kaabil first ,they have right to release it on 26Jan..

i am still hoping rock on 2 will improve and atleast will be tagged as an average fare.
After 5 back to back successful films Rock On 2 will be a massive failure . Honestly Shraddha is good looking but she has to really improve on her acting skills . She was superb in A2 but that’s it . She was the weakest link in Haider . She was also below average in Ek Villain . I have not seen Baaghi and ABCD 2 but I am sure she was ordinary in both movies . Her singing is also not as great as some people say . Rock On 2 will be a major setback for Excel Entertainment after Bangistaan and BBD .

One thing is for sure that Shraddha can take a huge credit for the opening numbers that Ek Villain, ABCD 2 and Baghi garnered. But in case of Rock On 2, just the opposite has happened. Rock on has a quite a following, not at the level that it should have a sequel but there is a goodwill about the film.
All of my friends are fans of the first film and still fondly remember the craze it had at the time of its release (Watched the film in a massy centre like Nagpur, running almost houseful in its 2nd week). The movie still finds a place in our collection of movies and some songs remain in our playlists.
And i think Shraddha did more damage than good to Rock on 2. She looked utter misfit in a film that already looked lacklustre from its promos and songs. There could be a chance that even the fans of the prequel lost interest quickly after finding Shraddha on board.
She is ok…in the end talent will beat her.

Actresses alone donot have noticeable fanbase for at least pulling the audience to theatres…All they do iz add value to the lead actor or the movie(massy in case of Shraddha)
anyth wid Srk or Salman(non commercial and non appealing to the fans) can still open to 1t least 18cr…bt thatz not the case with actresses. Many believe Deepika alone can pull a 10cr opening…utter bullshit…Even wid bigB and Irfann Khan we saw Piku opened to around 5 cr…so was the case with katrina…bt when tbey are seen wid sm1 like a Srk or a Salman then they add immense value..And the numbers can be seen in the openings of CE ETT. Bollywood iz all about male actors..female actors have alwayz been sidelined…they have a long way to go..!!

It’s not fair to point at Shraddha for the dull opening in box office. She’s not responsible for that. It’s the script writer, director and Farhan himself. The film itself shouldn’t have the sequel. It’s not mass appealing franchise film. The first one itself a average grosser. She just add value to the film. Most part Farhan over shadowed others as though he’s the main lead. It supposed should have maintain the same role as the first one add in Magik. One more more thing the plot really sucks. Acting wise it’s Shraddha, Arjun & Farhan did decent job others okay with their limited role like prachi n goswami.
The movie does not live up to to Rock On prodigy. Too much drama than music. Utter disappointing.
