After a good start on Friday, Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala dropped by 5-10% at the domestic box office on Saturday, with all India occupancy of around 35%.
While dip in business on Day 2 is normal for holiday releases that put up record opening day numbers (Agneepath, Ek Tha Tiger etc), it’s alarming for a film like Shootout At Wadala.
Footfalls for the morning shows was significantly lower than Friday. At multiplexes, it’s the evening and night shows on Saturday that get the best occupancy, but apart from Maharashtra the film was average elsewhere. North India, Mysore, West Bengal were once again below the mark.
The IPL fever is usually held responsible for lower-than-expected turnout, but with films like Chashme Baddoor and Aashiqui 2 doing well, the IPL can no longer be blamed for a film’s poor performance at the ticket window.
Sunday will be crucial if the film has to get close to the 30 crore mark in it’s first weekend.

- Friday: 8.93 crore
- Saturday: 8-8.25 crore (estimate)
- 2 Day Total: 17 crore (approx)
90% of the story and facts in SAW is false and is not based on true incidents. The actual ACP who killed Manya Surve said in a interview that Manya was a small time robber, there was no connection between him and Dawood Ibrahim etc. Moreover ACP saw Manya Survey for the first time when he killed him. He also added that he is not responsible for the false facts presented in the movie.
The movie being entirely for masses who like adult and violent content will hardly survive in coming weeks. Verdict will be Average or even Flop.

Indicine team you should take a neutral role instead of favoring any actor.

I cannot predict the fate of the movie,but can say one thing. Taran Adarsh wants to make the film SAW a hit while Komal Nahta wants to make it a flop.If you check their twitter account,you may know.
jhon abraham is veryy bad actor for me and the fact that sunny leon do an intem number in this film make it veryyy awfuuuuuul pfff and this is my opinion :)
@balaji telefilms now ekta should realise that people are not interested to watch adult content gangster films and stop making this type films where story taken from Dawood Ibrahim with false data.
I think she should concentrate for making tele films and i don’t know why a few people say Ekta is a marketing genius, anyway people will get it after the release of OATIM2.
Balaji is nothing compared to UTV, Tips, Dharma, YRF, Eros, Excel, Illuminati and Red Chillies Entertainment.
