Shahrukh Khan’s Madame Tussauds statue re-dressed as Gaurav

In what is a first for a Bollywood celebrity at the iconic Madame Tussauds in London, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s wax statue was re-dressed as Gaurav Chanana – the character he plays in his upcoming film ‘FAN’.

The most recognised Indian actor in the world, is currently in the United Kingdom to promote his film.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, FAN is expected to take the global box office by storm, as analysts have predicted that the film will cross the $20 million mark.

The highest overseas grosser so far this year is $7 million total of ‘Kapoor & Sons’, which could be surpassed by FAN in its first weekend itself.

Check out photos of Shah Rukh’s wax statue after it was given the Gaurav makeover.

Enough said. Now FAN will show the haters, what SRK can do even with a non-holiday release.
I guess, the overseas collections of FAN (non-holiday release) will be greater/on par of other actor’s holiday releases (exempt few exceptions). Power of King Khan…!

  • First day, 20 tickets are being contributed by my gang.
All SRK fans, you too, gather together and make gangs. Go and watch FAN in theatre with your friends, family and loved ones.

  • Awesome !!!!! Superb !!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!

Yes Indicine he is the MOST recognised Indian actor in the world. And yes hopefully FAN will take the global box office by storm.

  • So much promotion ongoing for FAN, if it fails to open huge then it will be a shame for ego-filled srk fans. Fellow actors ko respect karna sikho.

  • Gaurav will be going to Best bollywood character names like Rahul & Raj..
    Eagarly waiting

  • @xzone: again you are talking too much there is not much buzz of the movie in overseas nor in India and IPL the other factor 140-150 maximum.

  • He z da most recognised star in overseas but top overseas grossers belongs to amir and in india too he is behind amir n salman..this is srks starpower..

  • @Aki 4:59 pm : Why burning? Sad that your non-actor doesn’t have such statue?
Leave statue, he is not even allowed to go beyond the boundaries of India because of obvious reasons.
    So stop burning.

  • Bhai tu yaha-waha murti banta hi reh jayega…akhir karega bhi kya box office pe to multistarcast ke sath bhi ek clean hit nahi de saka!!!

  • This statue is looking much better than the previous one . This statue is looking more authentic and very real . So Fan releases day after tomorrow and SRK fans are waiting with bated breath to watch on FDFS . I am damn sure SRK fans will love Fan to the core as they will see their own reflection in Gaurav and they will revisit the kind of love fans gives to the Superstar . But how much will the neutral audience react towards Fan will be a very interesting situation . Because every person is not a Fan of SRK and not everybody can relate himself/herself to Gaurav . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Haters don’t have any topic to hate.so it will be better if you guys gonna shut up your mouth..I am expecting FAN to collect 450cr+ globally

  • Fan will create highest non holiday life time Records…
Fan will be the first niche movie to movie to collect 150 cr…
SRK will create history without Any songs & Heroines…
After the release & verdict of Fan SRK haters will skip non holiday logics… To much fun….
Then I really waiting for the blah blah logic from @Tiger the real chuhe After the verdict of Fan….

  • YeY!!!!
    Wohoo!!!!!
    Yuhoooooo!!!!

For us this is so heartwarming to read such articles for our idol rather than his fims because whenever the articles of his films comes, the comparison goes to salman and aamir’s films which gives us lots of head ache and frustration. But we are proud to have artocles regarding our beloved ICON King’s DOCTORATE DEGREE, MADAME TUSSAUDS, TWITTER FOLLOWING AND MANY SUCH THINGS. GLAD TO READ THE MOST AWAITED ARTICLE. HEY EVERYNE, DONT MESS WITH MY KING. HE MAY NOT RULE BOX OFFICE, BUT HE RULES ACTING POWER HOUSE, TWITTER, ONLINE POLLS, MADAME TUSSAUDS, AND HEARTS OF ACTING LOVERS…!!! MY ICON ROX.

    Yohooooo…!!

  • Too many useless articles filled up @indicine website today..

None of them important or worthwhile..

Indicine should promote other films this much too like Udta punjab, Azhar , Housefull3 , Raaz-4 and rangoon..

  • Most recognised Indian actor in the world. The line says it all.
Definitely it would storm the overseas box office.
For some morons collecting 150 CRORES on non holiday is less. Wow that’s the expectations SRK movie carries.

  • Must read for all Srkians:
Shah Rukh Khan and me had just finished watching Saudagar, sitting in the first row of the stalls at the now defunct Satyam cinema in Worli. We went to see the film there for the 70mm screen.

It was 1991 and we had not started Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. GP Sippy didn’t want a new actor; he wanted me to make my new film with Salman Khan, since Patthar Ke Phool had made a lot of money. Only natural, except that SRK was staying with me, his mother had died and I was committed to launching him.

Every single time Raaj Kumar or Dilip Kumar mouthed a dialogue, there was clapping and coin throwing. For no one else in the film, did this happen.

‘I want to have more fans than Dilip Kumar, he was my parents favorite star,’ said SRK.

‘Who’s stopping you?’ This was me.

‘No one at all. Have you ever known anything to stop me?’

‘Nope, but fans can’t be bought you know’.

    A long silence.

We stopped the cab at Marine Drive and we used to sit there quite often, he looking at the sea and smoking, me looking at him and smoking.

A solitary man comes up and recognizes SRK from Fauji. He takes an autograph and then hovers around, never stopping to look at SRK. We don’t move away, neither do we shoo him away.

‘You know Viveck, you are very wrong. My producers cannot give me my career. Only my fans can. They will force producers to sign me. They will never desert me. They will always be my strength. They will always be there. As long as my fans want to see me, producers will always want to sign me.’

I remain silent. That was the period when SRK’s mother had just passed away and he would have long periods of introspection.

‘I want more fans than Dilip Saab. I will dance for them, sing for them, fight for them, make them laugh, make them cry……..’

That was then. It was a far longer conversation, but I honestly do not remember the rest.

Today, on the edge of the release of SRKs latest film, Fan, I look back at this conversation and reflect how true it is. SRK has not just danced for them, sung for them, fought for them; he has broken every single bone in his body for them. No matter what the situation, he has never been rude or short or irritated with his fans. In fact, when fans throng his set, he makes each and every one of them feel like a VIP. He has put his incredible energy at the disposal of his fans at every stage of his career. I have seen him sometimes get aggravated with people close to him, but never with his fans.

And it’s true; they will never forsake him, because he will never forsake them. SRK’s fans are his strength, his source of energy, and he needs them like oxygen. He needs their adulation for that is source of his energy. As long as there is one fan of SRK alive in the world, his energy will always be at an all-time high. Even when he threw Shilpa Shetty off the terrace, murdering her in cold blood in Baazigar, they loved him. We went together to see the response to Baazigar along with Abbas, Mustan and Ratan Jain, first to the New Excelsior, then to the Dreamland. Houseful midweek at both cinemas! Fans cheering the Baazigar in the second half, knowing that the character is evil to the core. No matter. Ratan Jain completely bemused at the audience throwing coins at the screen for the villain.

    SRK just winked at me.

That late night I asked him for his autograph too. He signed it on my palm. Since then, every time we meet, I hold my palm out and he signs it.

This time around, he’s going to be the fan whose obsessive love turns to obsessive hatred. And the audiences are going to love him.

Too bad they don’t throw coins in multiplexes!!!
