Shahrukh Khan keeps his promise!

Not too long ago, on International Women’s Day, Shahrukh Khan had announced that henceforth in all his upcoming movies his name would appear after his leading lady.

And guess what? The actor kept his promise with his latest release which released in cinemas today. The first thing you’ll notice while watching Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express is Deepika Padukone’s name during the opening credits, which appears first followed by Shahrukh Khan.

The idea of ‘ladies first’ in the credits was first suggested to SRK by filmmaker R. Balki. Shahrukh was so smitten by the idea that he immediately agreed to allow his leading lady the right to go first in the opening credit titles.

Great way to celebrate the significance of women in Indian Cinema, don’t you think?

And about women , outside india u can see women like julia roberts, angelina jolie , sandra bullock and others rule the box office along side men , it is not new thing to the world cinema but indeed it is a huge thing to indian cinema and i am glad that SRK is the 1 who started that

  • So what? Another publicity stunt by self proclaimed king. Who is not respected even by IPL watchman.

  • @ Beingsallufan: Don’t fly on rumours. The press has also written about the surrogacy and boy child of SRK, will u accept that.

  • So SRK used this to get publicity.. Indicine should know that Dabangg 2 also had Sonakshi’s name first.. Why making big deal out of it? Just to portray SRK great?

  • @beingxzonefan and you the hypocrite are using your enemys name to gain much needed attention…!
    :-P

Once again you are here n there spreading your frustration because as a thakur fan amongst 3.8 billion srkians you are insignificant and hardly noticed…! Loser go get a life and catch the train alongside your aliases… Chennai Depress wont be hanging about for you beyond the weekend as it will be departing from most stations sorry theatres by monday. :-P

  • @nilesh let him be… Bichara only writes the nonsense which Indicine wont allow xzone to publish… The 2 work in unison and some say they are the same person…!

  • @certified….hehehe…everybody knows, who was rejected by indicine publicly …..so i won’t say anything else….
    “ye public hai..sab jaaanti hai..” ;-) ;-)

  • That’s good. There are more examples of films in which the heroine’s name has been put first. Heroines deserve their due in Bollywood. Deepika Padukone deserves it for she’s now the no. 1 heroine! Race 2, YJHD and now CE all in one year. No stopping her!
