‘Sarbjit’ release date announced, stars Aishwarya and Randeep Hooda

The release date of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s upcoming film based on Sarbjit Singh has been announced. The film has been directed by Omung Kumar, who last directed Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom.

The film titled ‘Sarbjit’ will release in theatres on May 20 2016, which is the same week during which ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ released in theatres this year.

Aishwarya plays the role of Sarbjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur. The character of Sarbjit, who died in Pakistan after being jailed for several years, will be played by Randeep Hooda.

‘Sarbjit’ will go on floors in October this year.

  • Aishwarya is beautiful but she’s an average actress especially for such performance based roles (as we can see by her acting in the Jazbaa trailer). Randeep Hooda is a good actor though.

  • Excellent release date.azhar won’t do anything at the bo so releasing it a week after azhar is a smart move

  • another ban movie in pakistan coming. i think its time we should stop making movies which will spread hatred among the two countries, and make peaceful movies like bajrangi Bhaijaan.

  • its good if omang kumar not direct it….marykom could be great..the only reason it wasn’t was omang’s direction….

  • Nice to see Biopics being made on lesser known personalities.Got to know about Sarabjit’s tragic tale after reading his sister’s interview.Heart-wrenching story it will surely make you teary-eyed

  • still , ash holds more value than abhishek
    jajba , sarbjit and ae dil-e mushkil are all main streams movie starring ash in main lead

    i don’t know how sad it feels to be abhishek bachchan
    father – amitabh bachchan, possibly the biggest superstar this country has ever seen or would ever see
    mom- well once top star and now a big politician (was mp 5 years back)
    wife- most beautiful woman on planet and one of the biggest overseas star along with shahrukh khan , amitabh bachchan and raj kapoor

    biggest qualification of abhishek bachchan is being son of big b and jaya bachchan and husband to ash
    is this a boon or curse, decide for yourself

  • The release date of Sarabjit is very good . It is releasing one week after Azhar . Randeep is a brilliant actor and Ash is also superb but i did not liked her acting in Jazbaa’s trailer . Mary Kom was a ok movie . The story of MC Mary Kom should have been told in a better manner . I hope this time Omung Kumar makes a solid movie . This is a very sensitive topic and i feel happy when such kind of movies are made . We need to show such kind of stories in India . Ash will play a old character in this movie . Randeep is also playing a difficult character in this movie . Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Let’s just hope the movie is not ruined by extra emotional, over melodramatic bollywood angle…
    Biographies in Hollywood are just brilliant…

  • @indicine

    had azhar biopic been Karan Johar and dharma production movie..

    U would have added last line to ur article —— “” which is just 1 week after Azhar biopic helmed by Dharma Productions produced by Karan Johar and co-produced by Hiroo Yash Johar. “” ….

    After ouatimd, u don’t like balaji banner.. Haha.. Dharma loyalists.!

  • Summer verdict of 2016

    azhar = superhit..

    Ki and ka = disaster..

    Sarabjit= flop..

    Fan= blockbuster

    dishoom = flop

    badshaho= hit

    kapoor N sons= disaster crap..

  • @stark FYI aamir is much bigger star than srk in overseas. Also he is the most popular star globally. Srk is nowhere close to him.

  • Randeep completely overshadowed non actor Salman in Kick. Bhojpuri Salman should learn how to act from tushar kapoor. Even tushar kapoor can overshadow bhojpuri lalman in any movie.

  • @azar Noone is interested in flop Azhar. It stars emraan a cgrade actor. Zero acting skills and giving huge disasters.
