Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has not only made Ranveer Singh one of the most promising stars in the industry, but the director’s next is going to be one of the biggest films of 2017.
Titled ‘Padmavati’, the film already has finalised its date (Christmas 2017) and Bhansali, who has been working on the script for the last few months, has started composing the first few songs of the film.
It was singer Shreya Ghoshal who broke the news.
“Recorded a landmark song of my life today. Soul satisfying emotional joy ride. I live just to be able experience such moments! #powerofmusic” she tweeted.
She later added “Wondering which song! What outstanding compositions Sanjay Bhansali sir has made for #Padmavati.Sang with all heart!”
‘Padmavati’ is yet another historical based on the life of Queen Padmavati and how she became the obsession of Sultan Alauddin Khilji. The film stars Deepika Padukone as Padmavati and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
‘Padmavati’ marks the third consecutive film featuring Ranveer and Deepika under Bhansali’s direction. While ‘Ram Leela’ was successful, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was a huge hit at the box office.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika coming again third time consecutively with SLB but they are a good pair.
Love how bhansali is making these movies on kings and queens we don’t know about. Appreciate his efforts for that

Would’ve loved to see SLB cast someone else.. why Ranveer – Deepika in every film?? Why not Hrithik – Deepika?
My honest opinion not aginst any star but becoz of Shah rukh khan stardom bagirao was watched by so many, only half of audience only would have watched if it had released solo. And being a classic movie I hardly remember a single dialogue .

Shreya Ghoshal has completed 14 years in this industry today . She made her playback debut with Devdas . She sang two songs – Bairi Piya and Dola Re . She has a magical voice and it has been a successful, amazing and a wonderful journey . She had worked in every SLB movie in the last 14 years . Devdas, Saawariya, Ram Leela and BM . As for this project I am not pretty excited for Padmavati . I know the complete story of Rajkumari Padmini and Alauddin Khilji . Also till now SLB has not confirmed about the casting of Ranveer Singh and DP . Their pairing might get repetitive for the audience . They both have worked in RL and BM . In this movie the female lead will have a better character as compared to the male lead . As of now no movie has been confirmed to release on Xmas 2017 . Anand L Rai – SRK, Padmavati and Salman – Rajkumar Santoshi these movies are speculated to release on Christmas 2017 but nobody has made an official announcement . I am not including Dutt as I heard the shooting has been delayed . So the race for blocking Christmas is getting uglier day by day . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hrithik played Akbar very well.
Hrithik might played Bajirao also very well even way better than Ranveer but its boring & accept same guy playing two different history characters.
Now SLB going with same couple for another history characters….which will be difficult to accept.
Sorry but i don’t think Padmavati will work with this star cast.
Ajay & Kareena might be better in these roles.
That’s enough of RS and DP sir…kindly change the cast for thw refreshment of audience ….else all movie may look like franchise of each other think of it..
A few years back star plus (most probably) made a mega budgeted mega serial on Raani Padmavati & Sultan Alauddin Khilji, titled Padmavati. Interestingly after 2-3 weeks they stopped telecasting it due to lack of TRP.
again the same boaring jodi and same historical based plot…. man ! do something new instead of doing historical films again and again…. !
Agreed with @Rohitnene, I think Ajay would be a fab choice for the role of Alauddin Khilji…. As he is light years ahed of ranveer in Acting and he is the one who will give proper justice to this role…. !
isnt this trio becoming repetitive-I mean the same man,with same leading lady ,with same director,with same music style(most probably SLB will himself compose music again) and this time repeating the genre of historical romantic drama.They should have cast someone else-Ranbir and Hrithik were good options with Alia/Shraddha to pair against Ranbir and PC/Anuskha in case of HR.

In every movie he has made one thing sure that every actor that he casts in his film must act brilliantly for example : Ranveer singh in DDD is pathetic but the same Ranveer is outstanding in bm .
