Salman Khan’s ‘Raped Woman’ comment lands him in yet another controversy

Salman Khan has made yet another controversial statement that has resulted in yet another major outrage on social media websites like Twitter and Facebook.

A section of the media and fans of the actor have said that Salman was ‘misquoted’. But the truth of the matter is, Salman wasn’t ‘misquoted’, he did say “felt like a raped woman” but he also said ”I shouldn’t have said that” almost immediately.

It’s easy to take media interactions lightly, more so because there are hundreds that place during a promotional campaign of a film. But social media outrage is a reality in today’s times and actor’s need to be extremely careful.

Like we’ve already seen with the ‘intolerance’ comment by Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, one sentence from an hour long interview can be highlighted, played repeatedly, misquoted and blown out of proportions across all ‘sensation seeking’ news channels.

Even a slip of tongue or something that you don’t mean to say, can land you in what’s being called as ‘Twitter outrage’.

Here’s exactly what Salman Khan said “You look like a fraud, if you’ve not trained properly. You need to put in as many hours (in training) as any other wrestler does. That we’ve done. But when we were shooting, those 6 hours of fighting and throwing each other around, that is unbelievable (very difficult). I’ve got to pick up a 120 kilo person and drop him down.. I’ve got to do it 10 times. In a wrestling match, it happens once or twice. (But here) 10 times from 5 different angles.”

“Those 6 and a half 7 hours, either I’m picking up and throwing or he’s picking me up and throwing. So it’s like the most difficult thing. When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to actually feel like a raped woman walking out…. I don’t think I should have said that….  I couldn’t take steps, it was very difficult.. ” Salman said.

The media cannot really be blamed for ‘misquoting’ Salman, because he actually did say that it felt like a ‘raped woman walking out’, but should he be forgiven for immediately realising his mistake after what looked like a ‘slip of tongue’?

  • It might be a slip of tongue.. but I’ve always had a problem with the way he treats women. He has never treated his women well. Beating up Aishwarya and the way he talks to Katrina in public.. shows a lot of disrespect.

I still remember a comment that he made few years ago in an interview.. it was just after he broke up with Katrina and Omar on Zoom had asked him….. He compared girls with a bitch.. he was actually talking about Katrina going behind Ranbir..

For all his stardom.. he’s an utterly shameless guy.

Omar Qureshi (To Salman): Do you think being possessive affects a relationship?

Salman: I am confused about this one, in a relationship you are never that possessive, you care too much so once you realize that that person does not want that much care then you automatically back off. For example: If there is a dog in one area and there are dogs and one bitch in another area. So when one area’s dog goes behind the bitch of the other area then the other dogs will throw him away that is caring. Pyar se samjhao, phir kodo se samjhao and then also if people don’t understand then you let them be. Later on they come back to you, sabki train late chalti hai aur kabhi kabhi opposite direction mein chalti hai.( Jokes)

  • He released right away and accepted mistake. Not like SRK who said it and then took it back days later after people raged.

  • Disgusting. Shame on Salman.

Still these blind bhaitards will support him,so what bhai is a God.

  • What else you can expect from this person. If only he was a female he would have felt and realised the pain.

  • Every time he does some thing silly and outrageous, his innocent dad has to come out and save his @ss.
How can he be so shameless?

  • Salman has proved his class yet again that what sort of a person he is,extremely shocking ,outrageous and demeaning statement earlier the yakub Menon statement and now this don’t cover up by stating he was misquoted or it was a slip of tongue salman is a 50 plus actor not a young boy of 20 that he is immature childish what can one expect from an illiterate and hardened criminal, now his fans will support this rape statement also shame on them and him

  • Salman rants about Yakub Menon:

Salimji :But his intentions weren’t bad.

    Salman chinkara case

    Salimji:But his intentions weren’t bad.

    Salman mass murders on footpath

    Salimji:But his intentions weren’t bad.

  • Bhai and his male ego, the way he behaves shows he feels he’s superior than other people.. Karma has given him immediate slap after saying “Who is Arijit”

    100% deserves it.

  • And this man is Good will ambassador in Rio 2016.
Kitna bi charity krle but insaan jaisa hta hi andar se baatein bi vaisi hi nikalti hai bahar…#Shame

  • Even in a slip of tongue how can a sane and mature person quote such an example. Hate and disgusting are words that I avlid using but that example of his deserves to be called disgusting and pathetic. You just cannot say something as an example. Very insensitive example.

Rape cases are such sensitive issues that it is even awkward and sad to talk about it. How can one just quote the painful condition of that victim so causally as a daily life example ? Is it something to be quoted so casually?

Yes he immediately took back his words. At least he had that little bit of sense. But still I am still very disappointed with him for saying such a thing. Extremely disappointed.

  • Salman is an arrogant idiot ,he acts and talks as if he is the don of Bollywood ,no repentance for his past crimes and no control on his tongue, every time he does something his father apologises for him.Mr salim khan had u brought up your son properly u wouldn’t had to face this embarrassment and insult time and again and defend ur 50 plus son that’s why good upbringing is so essentialessential, salman success is not permanent u will always be remembered for ur actions and on this front u are a big zero

  • Salman Khan has always been misquoted by cheap media…he had apologised immediately after that statement…it had randomly come out of his mouth….otherwise he never means any offence to women.

  • This is insult to women. Can bhai tell us how raped women walk. This bloody illiterate. We’ll sue him. He beat aish up and we kept quiet. Shame on Bhai.

  • Salman Immediately saw the error in his statement & retracted it. But this was conveniently not reported by media just to degrade him.
