Salman Khan files caveat in Supreme Court in 2002 hit-and-run case

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court urging it to grant him a hearing before passing any order on Maharashtra government’s appeal in the 2002 accident case.

The Maharashtra government has already moved the apex court challenging Bombay High Court’s order acquitting Salman in the case, in which one person was killed and four others were injured.

Salman’s plea was admitted in the apex court earlier this week.

Salman Khan was found guilty by the sessions court on May 6, 2015 and convicted for, among others, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and sentenced to five years in jail.

However, on December 10, 2015, the Bombay High Court acquitted him of all charges and quashed the lower court verdict.

  • The government have no work to do, the victim family don’t want anything then money even though our Maharastra government want to give justice to whom?? minimum 10-cases everyday in India people died in road accidents so how many victims people getting justice from government rather wasting money and time of court, help farmers in Maharastra they are in very bad conditions.

@aki,due to 3rd class lallu supporting peoples like you this country is suffering of criminals.if your family would have victimised, then your opinion would be different, you double standard born oxymoron.

  • Salman Khan did not condemn the intolerance comments of Aamir Khan in public.. Hence Modi is targeting him!!! Otherwise Modi gov would have given padma bhushan award to Salman Khan… Just like the unofficial spokesperson and chamcha of Modi i.e. Anupam kher

  • Everyone knows that Salman is guilty but people who have money can buy anything even justice. Haven’t you guys seen Jolly LLB.

  • Bhai will be the brand ambassador for the first driverless car soon………will be launched before the next movie

  • @Aki – just because many people don’t get justice in india, just because victim’s family doesn’t want anything doesn’t mean that someone who has committed a crime should walk free.

Law MUST be above everyone. It cannot be different for a celebrity!

  • @Aki….u mean if victim family dnt want justice ..then. we shud free salman….how rediculous is dat…he shud be punished…
And dat becomes realy well education to youngsters …
At list for 2 yrs or one ..he has to go jail…

    Sallu bhai …tu to gayo..

  • The main reson why salman not get any filmfare, Padma, and many more awards?
Becouse laws does not allow give these award to any conviction.
And he will not able for any award until acquited by laws

  • @josh Salman only rules in mars. Real megastar is aamir khan who rules Bollywood. No one can match the biggest megastar aamir khan.

  • 3 best selling franchise in India today that media loves…

    1. Srk on intolerance
    2. Aamir on intolerance
    3. Salman court case.

Believe me this issues will be brought back again and again.

As for d victims I deepest regret and if Salman committed the crime let him face it if proven he didn’t follow the normal judiciary processes and give him the right to breath fresh air. Am not siding anyone as God forbid it can happen to any of us or our close ones. Only those involved know d trauma they are facing be it victims family or culprit. Ours is just to either add more petrol into d issue or use a fire extinguisher to quench the spark. But it’s a very good platform to express all our views. I pray at the end of the whole saga justice prevails.

  • what justice u haters are actually talking about? for u people if salman is acquitted then justice is not done n if he is punished then justice is done. wat nonsense. u people make nonsense allegations like salman bought the law. did u see it? n why didn’t he buy the law in the lower court where he was convicted? u people also seem to know more than the law. respect the judgement. u also seem to know more than anybody else about the accident n wat happened dat night. why don’t u people answer the shoddy investigation done just to frame salman khan. why don’t u answer about the tampered blood samples, the fake bills produced n the unreliable statement of the witnesses. n watever u say at the end of the day it was just an unfortunate accident which could happen to anybody. an accident doesn’t make u a criminal. there is a reason it is called an accident. n from when does an accident become a murder.

  • @sss
Yes I ractify with your views on “it can happen to any of us ” very true. But you know you are only tagged a criminal when the court overrules it’s final verdict. Yes Salman might have been directly involved or indirectly but without any legit proves for 10 years or more.. It’s unfair to say he should be hanged. This world we are living in is very very polluted. You and I know Oscar P (the south African handicap runner) and OJ Simpson killed their girlfriend and wife respectively. What happened? Same judiciary we see as source of inspiration
    .American justice system… Flopped!!
South african too me also flopped in some way. No matter how you accuse Salman it still has to go through formal judiciary vetos.. If he witnesses come out, cctv catches Salman in action or his defence lawyer gives up…fine let him go to jail but not until strong evidence backup forwarded to the court Salman will not be considered guilty. Atimes black is proven black same time black is proven white.. Reason is because of 2 key words…
LAPSES and OPPRESSION (power from authorities).

  • Let supreme court decide…Everyone has a right to move the apex court if not satisfied with high court’s verdict…

I like Salman a lot but if there is a procedure done legally, no harm in that…And if Supreme court feels he is a clean man, great ! If the verdict of supreme court is such that, they find him guilt, we ought to respect that…

Also, sometimes putting aside his stardom, we can let judicial system decide ! After all, that will give hope to millions of poor and middle class that they will be heard in this country…

  • @Romance QUEEN : looks like u desperately wants bhai to go to the prison ?… hmmm hakla not able to deliver HGOTY even with Multistarcaste so this is the only way to beat him ?…LOL… Keep Dreaming !!!!

  • this case is like cricket series of 3 matches
    1- salman
    1- Justice
it comes to in its final stage let’s see who will win this highly manage dramatic case

  • Only phattos like @Javed @sss and @romu kaka dream of Salman going to jail. It will not happen until they have a strong evidence. Phatto tards knows it is becoming very difficulty for their idol to give a single HGOTY without Salman’s down fall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
