Salman gets emotional about Shahrukh Khan on KWK

For probably the first time since their infamous fight at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party more than 5 years ago, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan spoke about his one-time good friend Shahrukh Khan.

On the opening episode of Karan Johar’s popular television chat show Koffee with Karan, there were moments when Salman got emotional while talking about Shahrukh – the relationship that they once shared, the time they spent while shooting for films like Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and their famous hug at Baba Siddiqui’s Iftar party. Salman also said that he was always the first to try and patch up with Shahrukh.

Here’s what Salman had to say.. excepts from Koffee With Karan.

There was never a war. Two guys got along fine, and one night they didn’t get along . It was something that hurt me, he could have come the same night and finished it off. He chose not to and I thought let it be.

There was Shahrukh, me and three or four other people (at Katrina’s birthday bash). I dont know how it got out (to the media) so quickly. So fast, that the first thing in the morning there was this big war. Camps were being formed.

After that, he came on to your show. He spoke about that. He passes my house 4 or 5 times a day. Why this show, he could have come over to my house, rung the door bell.

Even the earlier time, when we had a issue, it was me who went up to him and said forget it its all over. It was me. Perhaps, he didn’t know what to expect from me. My reaction. Sohail also said this. I am ok with that.

(After the Eid hug) I messaged him once, he messaged me once.

He has got his own life, I’ve got my own life. I am 100% sure that we won’t be best of friends again. There is a lot of respect that I’ve had for him and I’ve loved him over the years.

When people bitch about him and say shit about him, they think they can earn brownie points from me. They are very wrong, because I hate that. I’ve spent a lot of time with him. I may not see eye to eye, I may not like him that much or whatever. But I’ve spent a lot of time with him, at my house, on the sets, on Karan Arjun, we’ve partied together and I really like the guy.

If people come and talk bad about him, I don’t permit that.. at all! I don’t encourage it at all. I’ve loved the guy, I really like him as a younger brother.

He was my sisters friend and Sangeeta’s friend. We’ve known each since the longest time. So I’ve those memories and I’ll keep those memories. The way he has grown, God has given him a lot, so has he given me. He has got his family, he has gone his way and I’ve gone my way. He doesn’t need me, I don’t need him. It’s all good.
