The surprising announcement of a film on the life of iconic Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has created quite a lot of curiosity around the film. Who will be the actor playing Sachin in the film? Does Sachin himself make an appearance? When is the film releasing? – are some of the questions that we’ve received every since the announcement was made late afternoon on 11th April.
All the information that we could gather, below:
- It’s been officially confirmed that Sachin will be a part of the film.
- The shoot has already begun. It’s being shot real-time all across the world. Quite a few celebrities, including cricketers will be contributing to it. Video footage of some of Sachin’s iconic cricketing moments will be included in the film titled ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’.
- It won’t exactly be a biopic, but a feature film on Sachin Tendulkar’s life.
- Award-winning director James Erskine has been roped in to direct it. He has previously directed several documentaries, TV Series and Feature films. More info on his IMDb page
- Mumbai-based production company 200 Not Out is producing the film.
- Release date will be announced soon, the teaser will be out on April 14 at 1PM Indian Standard Time.

Go to oxford dictionary and find out the meaning of “National Hero “….the international icon you talking about can be an Anil kapoor, Priyanka Kabir Bedi Naseerdeen.
