Rustom has recorded a fantastic first weekend of 49-50 crore, which is about 15% more than the first 3-day collections of Airlift which released earlier this year. The collections are only a little lower than a franchise film like Housefull 3 which appealed to a larger section of the audience.
It’s also worth pointing out that Rustom was up against a big film like ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and has still managed to surpass the collections of ‘Airlift’.
The first weekend of Rustom is also only a little lower than ‘FAN’ which released on a partial holiday.
Mohenjo Daro is a washout with weekend business of around 30 crore, which is less than films like Baaghi, Dishoom and Udta Punjab.

I saw Rustom on Friday and I am very impressed. Akshay kumar has put one of the best restrained role. I am glad to see a good movie is getting recognized. I hope Akshay keeps doing this type of movie and stops houseful and Singh is bling type of movies.
It’s a Good Collection considering it is clashed against Big budget movie (though movie totally washout in it’s very 1st day)…….So there is chance to cross 100cr now……but still hold on Tuesday is important…..But one thing is confirm now that Akki is bigger star than Srk…..So congrats Akki fans
Many people claim that they r fan of SRK Sallu Hrithik Akshay etc but when their films fails where these ppl vanish Fan Brothers Jai Ho n now Mohenjo daro or there r very few true fans I feel if a film is good ppl will watch do you know Tanu weds manu 2 did 150 cr which is more than any Ajay Akshay starrer film
@ tiger,there is less than 1 crore difference between fan weekend and HF3 weekend.and your comparison makes no sense as HF3 is multistarrer comedy film which has hit music and wider appeal.whereas Fan had absolutely nothing of above mentioned factors.
