After a good start on Friday, Roy has sustained well on its second day at the box office. The morning shows on Saturday were down as compared to Friday, but the noon / evening / night shows were super-strong.
The youth also came out in big numbers as Saturday was Valentine’s Day and Ranbir Kapoor is one of the biggest crowd-pullers in the industry when it comes to teenagers and youngsters.
The big test for the film will be today. It can’t get bigger than India vs Pakistan in a World Cup game, so it remains to be seen what sort of impact the cricket match will have on business at cinemas.
Looking at the opening numbers, Roy has a fairly good chance of going on to be the first clean hit of 2015.

Film is riding only on Ranbir’s youth appeal and star power. Got to admit Ranbir’s star power. The film is unanimously carrying horrendous reports but his presence shall help T-Series to at least recover their money.
T-Series is one of the smartest team in the business. They always knew Baby wasn’t a commercial film and excessive promotions won’t have any impact. They smartly relied on Word-of-mouth and with Above Average verdict they have managed to recover their money.
With Roy, they promoted it as Ranbir’s film and this helped the film to start on a terrific note. Doesn’t matter if WOM is bad, they’ll still be able to recover their money thanks to the powerful start! Well played Bhushan Kumar. You’re a wise man.

Roy needs 50-55 cr to become a Hit and Roy will do 30 cr in its opening weekend itself. So even with negative reviews Roy has huge chances of becoming a hit.

I believed from day 1 film is totally crap so its success is solely down to RK…. Critics reviews have little bearing on a superstars films as his fans will watch his films irrespective of the reviews. RK the superstar is here n here to stay.

Roy showed growth on Saturday but considering it was Valentines Day it should have been more. Still the two day business is good. The first two day business of Roy is as follows.
Friday – 9,25,00,000
Saturday 10,00,00,000
TOTAL – 19,25,00,000
The Sunday business will be hit by the match and that too the best shows on Sunday afternoon. The evening and night shows will be okay but they tend to be less anyway especially in the big cities.
It will fall flat from monday morning..it is very boring with good songs…final 50-60 crores…
Will be less than BABY.
BABY showed huge growth on 3rd n 4th day. ROY will fail there as WOM is average.
