Rowdy Rathore is an upcoming action film directed by Prabhu Deva, who last directed Salman Khan in Wanted. Akshay Kumar will be seen in action with the Dabaang girl Sonakshi Sinha. Apparently it is the third remake of the Telugu movie Vikramarkudu.
Akki plays a “double role”of twins; One of them being a small-time thief (rowdy) and the other an IPS officer. Rowdy is the long lost twin of Vikram the IPS officer. He then steps into the shoes of Vikram who is killed by a group of gangsters, he then tries to solve the mystery of murder.
Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, Rowdy Rathore is slated for theatrical release on 15 June 2012.
Housefull 2 was supposed to release on June 1st, but has now been pushed back to April 2012.
With Ek Tha Tiger scheduled for release a week before, the second week collections of the Salman Khan film will be affected by the release of Rowdy Rathore.
If content is good, movie will be hit.
@indicine,it is two weeks afta ek tha tiger…which i’m sure wil not even affect ek tha tiger much if it was a week interval but it is two weeks…ek tha tiger wil b a critical acclaim film while surely rowdy rathore wil b bashed by critics,so ek tha tiger more than 200cr is stil on cards

I have seen hindi dubbed version of Vikramarkudu, and i feel it will be gud one, this was made in telegu with Ravi Teja and i guess it was sudeep in kannada version and Akki can do it real good considering the work he has done in Khakhi and rest of his movies…… Finally good choice Akshay. And since PD (Prabhu deva) will go for Frame by Frame so this will be good enough crispy movie but i doth think this can ever be threat to any other movie.
