Riya Sen is a model turned actress. After featuring in numerous music videos for songs by popular singers like Asha Bonsle, Jagjith Singh, Sonu Nigam and Falguni Pathak, she shot to fame in her modelling career. During her modelling career, she replaced then popular model Lisa Ray as the Lakme girl. Colgate, Limca, Vatika, Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate, Nirma and Margarita King are other major advertising assigments of Riya.

Riya Sen as a actress is not on the top list. Most of the movies that she starred have not done well at the box office, except for Jankhar Beats and Style. Most of her appearances have been item numbers and cameos.

Riya has appeared on the cover of a number of magazines which include Femina, Elaan, Man’s World, Gladrags, Savvy and Indian versions of Elle, Maxim and Cosmopolitan. She has set the ramp on fire in major fashion shows – Lakmé Fashion Week (2005-07) and Wills Fashion Week (2006-2007). She is the only female face to be featured on the calendar of Dabboo Ratnani, one of the leading Indian Photographers known for his calenders featuring Crème de la Crème of the Bollywood film industry, for five consecutive years (2003-07).
