Records to beat on Tuesday for Chennai Express

Chennai ExpressChennai Express had a record-shattering weekend of Rs 100.43 crore, but the film failed to beat Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’s first Monday record by just 0.08 crore.

As far as the Tuesday records are concerned, Salman Khan’s last two releases Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 are right at the top. But both those films benefitted from holidays. So, for Chennai Express its once again Ranbir’s YJHD which collected 11.8 crore on its first Tuesday.

Early estimates suggest that Chennai Express might struggle to break the Tuesday record, as quite a few multiplex exhibitors have reported drops on Tuesday. The Eid celebrations are now over too, so business from muslim-dominated are also about 10% lower than Monday. We expect the first Tuesday business to be around Rs 11 crore.

  • Ek Tha Tiger – 16.31 crore (Holiday – Eid)
  • Dabangg 2 – 15.5 crore (Holiday – Christmas)
  • Jab Tak Hai Jaan – 15.23 crore (First Day – Holiday for Diwali)
  • Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani – 11.8 crore
  • 3 Idiots – 10 crore
  • Dabangg – 8.75 crore

Note: Jab Tak Hai Jaan released on Tuesday, it was the films first day at the box office.

  • Again drop on tuesday means beating lifetime collections of “3 idiots” looking difficult now.Ok “CE” has broken some records but Lifetime collections of any movie(like 3 idiots and ETT) are most important for any Producer of the world(including Srk) and they only care of lifetime collection amount and not this weekend collection amount bcoz it is much bigger amount than this amount of weekend collection.It will be interesting to see whether “CE” will beat lifetime collections of “3 idiots” and “ETT” or even “YJHD” otherwise excuses will be ready as always.lol

    but in this 3 days i think all hater in hospital therefore they Didn’t commnt durimg that period finally they came when chennai express not break monday record….nd they campair it with 3i…shame on them 3i is best movie which bollywood have…same sholey,mogale azam,hahk and ddlj and some more…u cann’t campair this movies to other…..and some hater told us that check bio figer first they should waryy about outimd…bio ans.om outim
    Q. How much will Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Open Dobara open with on day one? 15 or 20 crore

    A. Those figures are impossible. Its looking around 6 crore from its release. If it manages to get more shows than expected right now it could go a bit higher but its not going anywhere close to 15 crore.

  • CE will definitely cross the domestic and overseas collections of 3 idiots. SRK has once again proved to be the King of Bollywood. His charm and his style are something truly magical. I am already looking forward to seeing him in his upcoming movies.

  • DABBANG 2 & 3 IDIOTS has huge free weeks
    While YJHD had competition from FLOP YPD2
    While CE will be loosing screens to OUATIMD and MADRAS CAFE and SATYAGRAHA
    In free weeks it broke every record of which haters are proud of
    So now haters want to break a no competition film record to be broken by highly competed film

    Srk’s chennai express will still collect 200 cr inshaallah….
    Here is d expected earnings of chennai express from wednesday onward..

    Total 5 day stands app as follows : 123 cr to 124 cr.

    Wed : 10 cr
    Thu (independence day) 12 cr
    Fri : 9 cr
    Sat : 11 cr
    Sun : 12 cr

    So 54 cr alone from wed to sun..
    So total domestic collections till sunday will be around 175 cr to 180 cr..
    Suppose if it is only 175 cr till coming sunday…than also for the next ten days if it collects on the avg of 3 cr per day from monday; chennai express will surpass the lifetime bo collection of both ett and 3 idiots. .
    Lets hope for the best..

    YJHD (non holiday) on 1st day : 19 crs + ( record)
    Chennai express (non holiday) on 4th day : 12 crs + ( under performer)

    Boxoffice india : chennai express heads for record Monday
    Next day chennai express collects 12 crs acc. to them
    Indirect message : under performer

    Boxoffice india : outiim dobara only collect 6 crs on 1st day
    On Friday, boi will say outim dobara collected 9 crs

  • long time ago they use to talk abt content in the movie…now only abt business…producers will take care of it…..just enjoy the movies……our love towards stars is more of their film business than film quality….

  • nw collection is 123 crore..wed-9-11..thu-9-11..fri-7-9(due to less screens).sat-7-10..sunday-8-11..so upto sunday minimum 160,maximum-170..after sunday if we consider minimum 2.5 crore daily for the 1wk thn it wl be above 15 crore..nd after thn 1 crore daily for another nxt wk thn it wl be minimum 7 crore..so above 180 is sure if outim2 works if it does nt thn 200 croe sure..simple calculation.so srk haters thnk over it..
