After a lot of buzz around who will be playing the role of Asihwarya Rai Bachchan’s brother in the ‘Sarabjit Singh biopic’, a decision has finally been made.
The role has been given to Randeep Hooda, who will be playing Sarabjit, a farmer who crossed the border and landed in Pakistan while being intoxicated. He was later taken into custody and was suspected to be a spy from India. The movie will be directed by Omung Kumar, who directed Mary Kom.
Sources say, the makers were planning to cast either Irrfan Khan or Randeep, but later it was Randeep who was chosen to play the role.
Sarabjit was kept in prison for 23 years in Pakistan and died without getting a chance to get freedom. Aishwarya Rai would be playing the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur. It is a very tragic and heart wrenching tale of punishment, fight against injustice and love.
The two actors have been cast in the same film for the first time and given their caliber it is expected that both will do excellently in the film.
Eros has confirmed that Bajirao Mastani will release this Christmas 2015, and will not be postponed.
Waiting for SLB’s epic historical masterpiece this Christmas. Srk will have to prepone or postpone Dilwale if he doesnt want to be overshadowed by BM.
Bajirao Mastani will release on 18th December 2015 and preparations have began. So it is confirmed noone is scared to clash with Dilwale.
Confirming the news, a spokesperson from the film’s co-producers, Eros International, said: “We are gearing up for a December 18 release and theatres are being blocked accordingly. The trailer will be coming out soon.”

This is a great news for me . Randeep Hooda has given some brilliant performances in OUATIM, Jannat 2, Highway and also Kick . He is a talented actor and i love his personality and his voice . I think he can justify the character of Sarabjit because he is Haryanvi and has a rugged look . It will be exciting to see Aishwarya in a difficult character . She is getting back to back movies such as Jazbaa, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and now Sarabjit Biopic . She will play a old character in the movie . Mary Kom was a average movie but i hope Omung Kumar can make a solid movie this time . I am waiting for this movie as i want to know the real story of Sarabjit Singh .
I am surprised why no director had thought of making a biopic on Sarabjit.Even though it would be quite controversial but such stories needs to be told.
