Tamasha is Ranbir Kapoor’s 3rd highest opener to date. But the collections of the film is way below the highs that he achieved with films like ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and to certain extent even ‘Besharam’ (holiday release).
The opening of ‘Tamasha’ is comparable to his last film with Imtiaz Ali, ‘Rockstar’. However, it has been 4 years since that film released and what was considered to be excellent back then, is below par now.
Saawariya is his worst opener and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is his best – since it released on a non-holiday.

YJHD was success despite average film because RK comming after back 2 back good films Rockstar n barfi plus music was chatbuster where before Tamasha Rk gave craps disaster besarm bv that makes the difference. Still Tamasha isn’t a bad film either but rk earn respect with Tamasha which he lost even it become success. I think ADHM will be the relauch of Ranbir karan johar as director plus Pritam music

I am biggest akki fan but now I am giving huge respect to ranbeer kapoor he is multiplex hero. his audience are full rich & intelligent….. and also they are giving 1000 rd to watch ranbeer movies…. not like akki he is only for masss center & illogical people…. now I like ranbeer more than akki after watching tamasha. it s littile boring but it very good movie…….

Tamasha will be flop like Besharam, Roy & BV. I didn’t like it.
He is in a bad phase. You can call bad luck or Katrina’s bad impact. whatever.
Definitely a better actor than what results of last films show. But maybe just not getting good offers or not able to select good scripts. I think his emphasis is more on only his role. That my role needs to be strong. I need an award for every role I play. But that doesn’t work. He doesn’t care of the whole movie in totality. That whether film will work or not doesn’t strikes his mind and that is where he loses it.
Like Rockstar was all about him He didn’t even ask for a better actress than Nargis.
Barfi again all about film. It may have been liked by many when it had released but it still not a classic. When it comes on TV not sure how many watch it. Its plain boring. That ridiculous kidnapping plot was disgusting.
Besharam, BV and now Tamasha all in the same league. Role strong, movie very weak. He needs to get over it. Firstly a film needs to be applauded then only performance will be appreciated. You just do good performances in bad movies that is not going to help. Thats exactly his case. An actor is never above the films.
Hrithik was faced similar phase. Even worst as magazine cover pages showed his photos with finished as title but he got up and made a terrific comeback. Set a principle to do one film at 1 time and he is doing great and lone challengers to the Khans. Lets see whether he learns or not.
But definitely a better actor than his films say about him.
Tamasha is a flop. No two views on it.
And considering his upcoming 2016 releases he is on a way to create record flops in a row. May be like Salmans blockbuster record he is setting a different flop record. Thats unique. Lage raho Pappu.
